Heavenly Net

The Heavenly Net is the first Demon Lord's legendary hunting net, formerly called Yama before ancient damage reduced its power and changed its name. (Chapter 31)

History

The assassination at the Orthodox Academy

During the attempt to kill Luoluo, the demon assassin Yeshi Tanlu recalls the scattered metal components of the Heavenly Net and offers his life essence blood to activate it. The resulting black net cuts the Orthodox Academy off from the outside and descends with force beyond the Falling Rain Whip's ability to resist, injuring Luoluo through her weapon. Chen Changsheng stands before her and thrusts his dagger upward; by the time Xue Xingchuan arrives, the net has been broken and the sacrificial wielder's plan has failed. Later accounts still identify it as a weapon of the Demon Lord capable of restraining Luoluo's Thousand Li Button, but establish no recovered holder or repair. (Chapters 31–33 and 567)

Abilities and properties

• The Heavenly Net ranks nineteenth on the Tier of Legendary Weapons. When deployed, its components form a mountain-sized black net that cuts off heaven and earth and encloses the space beneath it. (Chapter 31)
• In its pristine Yama form, the net was said to annihilate those caught beneath it. Ancient damage greatly reduces that power, and offensive activation now requires the wielder to sacrifice life essence blood. (Chapter 31)
• Even in its damaged state, it can block the spatial escape of a Thousand Li Button and overpower the Falling Rain Whip, transmitting severe force through the lesser weapon to its wielder. (Chapters 31 and 567)
• The net is not unbreakable in its reduced condition. Chen Changsheng's apparently ordinary dagger pierces or cuts through the descending formation before outside reinforcements arrive. (Chapters 31 and 33)
