Frost God Spear

The Frost God Spear is Emperor Taizong's personal weapon and the recognized head of the Tier of Legendary Weapons. Its imperial force raises powerful spear cultivators toward sacred combat and can inflict wounds that damage body, soul, and Dao together. (Chapters 31, 243, 314, 636–663, and 1154–1179)

History

Taizong's weapon and the palace seal

Emperor Taizong carries the spear through the ancient human-demon war, and its achievements secure the first position on the legendary ranking even when later observers debate whether another weapon is intrinsically sharper. After his era, the spear is locked in the Imperial Palace and integrated into its strategic defenses. During the coup, Xue Xingchuan wields it while guarding the Lingyan Pavilion and Imperial Design; the spear's imperial pressure lets him crush Xiao Zhang's attack and contest opponents approaching the Divine Domain. Its effectiveness makes entry into the palace appear impossible until poison undermines Xue Xingchuan rather than the weapon itself. (Chapters 243, 314, 636–647, and 711)

Autumn Slaying and the northern loan

Han Qing later casts the Frost God Spear in Autumn Slaying, piercing the Tianhai Divine Empress through the abdomen and dealing wounds to her body, soul, and Dao that cannot be mended. The Empress catches and handles the spear before the coup concludes; the artifact then vanishes from public view, and the corpus does not show the exact transfer that brings it into Shang Xingzhou's custody. In the northern war, Shang lends it to Xiao Zhang in exchange for ten years' use of Xiao's kite. Xiao uses the borrowed spear to leave a persistent wound in Black Robe, disable the Demon Commander temporarily, and carry the campaign toward Xuelao City. (Chapters 657–680, 726, and 1154–1179)

Abilities and properties

• The spear carries bleak, somber force together with imperial might. In Xue Xingchuan's hands it bends Xiao Zhang's ordinary spear, shatters his bones, and lets a cultivator below the sacred threshold threaten Divine Domain opponents. (Chapters 636–647)
• A thrust can cause all living things to wither, while Autumn Slaying wounds physical body, soul, and Dao simultaneously. The precise forging mechanism behind these effects is not explained. (Chapters 517 and 663)
• Its power still depends on the wielder. A heavily injured Xiao Zhang can gravely wound Black Robe but cannot kill her, and subsequent use worsens his own condition rather than removing his physical limits. (Chapters 1154–1160 and 1174–1179)
• The Pope's Green Leaf is stated to possess enough weight to overwhelm even the spear, establishing that first place on the weapon tier does not make it irresistible against every world-class artifact. (Chapter 661)
