The bishop in Xunyang

Hua Jiefu personally enters the inn where the wounded Su Li and Chen Changsheng have taken refuge, showing unusual humility because Chen's standing requires respect. He explains that the Orthodoxy will neither attack Su Li nor help him, a position that leaves Chen exposed while preserving church policy. Hua also secretly informs Liang Hongzhuang of Su Li's location and warns Chen about a Scholartree Manor expert, illustrating how his local actions serve several pressures at once. When Zhu Luo arrives under the Li Palace's apparent sanction, Hua and his priests remain silent despite wanting to stop Liu Qing's attack. After the Southern Holy Maiden reverses the confrontation, he submits to her authority, clears the ruined streets, and later briefs Chen on what happened outside the Garden of Zhou. Appearance and personality

Hua Jiefu wears scarlet episcopal garments and carefully straightens them before entering the inn. He is politically cautious, ceremonially respectful, and capable of discreet warnings, but institutional obedience prevents him from openly protecting the people he respects. Abilities and cultivation

As the northernmost bishop, Hua commands dozens of priests and possesses enough status to represent one of the only local forces theoretically able to oppose Zhu Luo. The confrontation shows the limit of that authority: once the Li Palace's position becomes clear, neither his branch nor its cultivators can act independently against a Divine Domain expert. No personal realm or named technique is established. (Chapters 382–404 and 416–424)
