Hu Thirty-Two is a locally experienced preacher elevated to Archbishop of Wenshui and later to the Li Palace's senior leadership. Biography

Wenshui and the White Emperor City

Hu guides Chen's party through the canyons around Wenshui because years of preaching have given him detailed knowledge of their people, customs, roads, and tea trade. That familiarity makes him more than a traveling companion: he transmits Chen's decrees to nearby churches, returns with current intelligence, and helps coordinate the Orthodox response at South Stream Temple. His competence later earns promotion to the Hall of Announcements and the rank of Prefect, though his lesser seniority often leaves him voicing the practical uncertainty of officials asked to implement plans they have not been told. Appearance and personality

Hu is conversational, informative, and often wears a helpless or sour expression when senior figures conceal their intentions. He obeys Chen without grandstanding and takes care to prevent searches from alarming uninvolved families. (Chapters 860–882 and 1073–1092)

He uses a plain dagger with the Drifting Cloud Martial Arts and possesses the cultivation expected of an archbishop.
