When the Tianhai Empress's final spear comes toward him, he composes himself and accepts the strike, yet survives the political night and then leaves once his identity as a former Demon Crown Prince is exposed. He returns to Xuelao hoping to exploit tension between Black Robe and the Demon Commander, but his youngest brother anticipates the danger, traps him, and engineers his death, ending both his guardianship and his possible claim to demon power.
