Hai Di
Hai Di is the second-ranked Demon General, a massive frontline commander whose strength can gravely wound Su Li and alter a battlefield. His final attempt to resist the former Demon Lord ends with the very monolith he wields being turned against him. (Chapters 270–354 and 750–773)
Biography
A commander's last rebellion
Hai Di loses an arm in the failed demon operation against Su Li, but remains powerful enough to command the northern front and later trap a weakened Chen Changsheng. When the supposedly dead former Demon Lord appears, Hai Di recognizes that he cannot win, yet follows Chen's plan and raises the broken monolith to delay him long enough for Chen and Zhizhi to strike Nanke. Hai Di trusts that Black Robe, who sent him, has accounted for this danger. She has not. The Demon Lord makes the monolith vibrate until Hai Di's bones shatter, then hurls it into his back and sends him into a snowy peak, killing a major demon commander without ceremony. (Chapters 270–354 and 750–773)
Appearance and personality
Hai Di is enormous and encased in black armor, with ice-pick eyes and an overbearing Qi like mountains and seas. He is disciplined enough to act within a hopeless plan and decisive enough to sever his own ruined arm while attempting escape, but his confidence in Black Robe's calculations proves fatal. (Chapters 354, 751, and 769–773)
Abilities and cultivation
His demon body is described as tough as metal, and a full-force strike can tear clouds and earth apart. He uses a broken Heavenly Tome Monolith like a falling mountain, but its former owner can command it; the Demon Lord's high-frequency vibration shatters Hai Di internally while leaving his flesh initially intact. This counter reveals both Hai Di's immense physical resilience and his absolute inferiority to the old sovereign. (Chapters 751 and 769–773)
Relationships
- Black Robe: Hai Di obeys Black Robe's mission and trusts her planning even while confronting the returned Demon Lord; no rescue or contingency appears. (Chapters 354 and 769–773)

- Su Li: Hai Di gravely wounds Su Li in an earlier battle but loses an arm in the exchange. (Chapters 270 and 354)
Items
- Broken Heavenly Tome Monolith: Hai Di wields the former Demon Lord's monolith as a crushing weapon. Its original master reasserts control, vibrates it through Hai Di's body, and uses it to kill him. (Chapters 769–773)
