Soul-seed Iron Sword

The Soul-seed Iron Sword is the rusty, mottled broken sword that carries Leylin’s experimental soul seed into the World of Gods in Chapters 779–782. It is not the earlier broken sword bearing the Sun’s Child’s golden blood, but a separate iron vessel found and wielded by Tiff.

History

A buried vessel

Leylin sends a minute soul seed through the world boundary and lodges it in an ordinary broken sword buried in rotten soil. The sword is not itself a magic artifact, but its mass reduces the soul seed’s rate of energy loss. Leylin draws attention to it with light, and Tiff digs it up and carries it away. (Chapter 779)

Tiff’s blood-red weapon

When armed pursuers close in, the soul seed channels power through the sword. Tiff uses the mottled blade to kill the surrounding knights with red slashes, while the seals binding Leylin’s presence to the vessel begin to fail. Tiff is the physical wielder; Leylin is the temporary resident intelligence and source of its supernatural force. (Chapters 780–781)

Destruction at Kahn Village

Contact with a bishop’s soul gives Leylin an opening to confront a descending divine consciousness. He orders Tiff to leave the iron sword behind, melts the vessel into the outline of a devil, and detonates the remaining power. The explosion destroys the sword together with Kahn Village, while Tiff survives at a distance. (Chapter 782)

Abilities and properties

• Provides a physical medium that slows the depletion of Leylin’s soul seed in the World of Gods. (Chapter 779)
• Channels the soul seed’s power into blood-red cutting attacks when wielded by Tiff. (Chapters 780–781)
• Can be consumed as material for a temporary projected body and self-destructive attack. (Chapter 782)
• Has no established connection to the Sun’s Child blood sword beyond both being described generically as broken swords. (Chapters 456–512 and 779–782)
