Stuart
Biography
A hired Radiant Moon
Stuart is a Sky City Radiant Moon who uses his standing to obstruct Leylin Farlier during the latter's visit. His hostility is not simply institutional: he has accepted Zegna's payment to help Jupiter's Lightning and initially expects to be dealing with an ordinary Morning Star. Once Leylin proves to be a five-star combatant and humiliates him in Sky City, Stuart demands greater compensation, but personal resentment now gives him a reason to continue beyond the original bargain. (Chapters 594–597)
Outside the city's protection, Stuart combines his attack with a long-distance curse cast through Zegna's network. He recognizes that letting Leylin survive would make his own eventual destruction likely, so he chooses escalation even after his anger cools. That decision turns a paid intervention into a fight to the death. (Chapters 597–598)
Death through the bloodline imprint
Stuart first sends a rank 5 black monster against Leylin, only for the Scarlet Earring's blade to disperse it into vapor. He then begins fusing his five innate spells into a Radiant Moon Arcane Art. The attack's projected scale is great enough to threaten Sky City, and its casting automatically protects him, but the preparation also commits him to a direct contest. (Chapter 598)
Leylin answers with the Sun's Child bloodline imprint. Sun Scorching Nirvana tears through Stuart's unfinished or newly formed Arcane Art and kills him immediately, while part of its force travels along the curse connection toward Zegna. The Monarch of the Skies posthumously expels Stuart for violating neutrality, and Stuart's death establishes that Leylin can kill—not merely repel—a Radiant Moon when using a rank 6 imprint. (Chapters 598–600 and 619)
The Stuart Family targeted in Chapter 478 is a separate family name, not evidence for this Magus's personal appearance.
Appearance and personality
Stuart is a sinister-looking old man driven by payment and resentment. He is experienced enough to reassess risk, but pride and contractual commitment keep him in a fight he cannot win.
Magic, bloodline, and abilities
Stuart's established personal power comes from rank 5 soul force and five innate spells. The ancient long-distance curse weakening Leylin is cast by Zegna or his collaborators; Stuart benefits from it, but the corpus does not attribute that technique to him.
Rank 5 spells and vapor manifestation
Stuart can form a huge snarling black monster from rank 5 magic. When cut apart by Leylin's high-grade equipment, the construct dissolves into black vapor from which Stuart's voice emerges, showing that the vapor is connected to his spell or position; the text does not establish it as an unlimited escape or an incorporeal body. His Radiant Moon defenses let him contest Leylin's peak Morning Star attacks without serious injury during their first clash. (Chapters 597–598)
Radiant Moon Arcane Art
Stuart's decisive technique superimposes all five of his innate spells through his point mass. The fusion is exponentially stronger than a Morning Star Arcane Art and produces radiance capable of threatening Sky City's defenses even from a distance. While he casts, a protective mechanism forms around him, making interruption dangerous. Its major limitation is commitment: Stuart waits until he is far enough from Sky City to release it without restraint, and its overwhelming energy does not protect him from the higher-ranked law power carried by the Sun's Child imprint. (Chapter 598)
External curse support
Black masks attached to Leylin weaken his vitality and soul force through an ancient curse operating across space. Stuart times his assault around this debilitation and expects it to secure the kill, but Leylin's Scarlet Earring and analysis gradually resist it. The source is tracked back to Zegna's side, and the Sun's Child attack follows that connection after killing Stuart. It is therefore organization-assisted battlefield support, not part of Stuart's personal spell repertoire. (Chapters 597–599)
