Biography

A Sky-rank instructor

Schiker is an eighth-level Fireplume practitioner and Sky-rank officer in the Atlan Union's Special Task Force. He trains recruits through live operations, using his own force field and the threat of military execution to keep frightened members in formation. Leylin Farlier, disguised as the Emberwing “Ley,” joins under him to investigate Lava World and the missing Ouroboros leaders. (Chapters 550–551)

Their first assault is an ambush. Schiker notices the unit losing formation and orders a retreat, but two Sky-rank bishops trap him with curses that contaminate his Fireplume. Leylin stages a breakthrough to the eighth level while repeatedly charging his captors, convincing Schiker that a gifted subordinate is risking death to save him. Loke's spider construct creates the final escape window, and Schiker rewards both apparent loyalty and talent with promotion and trust. (Chapters 551–553)

Eastern commander and Scarlet Eye's son

Schiker receives command of the eastern operation against the Triserpent Sect and Mobius Organization. He assigns Ley and Loke separate objectives, coordinates army support, and reports upward through the Atlan Union. A later ambush kills several Sky-rank generals and leaves Schiker badly injured; the enemy Morning Star spares him because his father is Scarlet Eye, the union's leader and a Radiant Moon-level power. (Chapters 555–563)

Scarlet Eye's connection explains both Schiker's access and his insecurity. Schiker left Tylasus City after failing to match his father's celebrated talent, and remains at eighth-level Fireplume while younger “Ley” appears to reach the ninth. On family advice, he gives Ley the forbidden tenth-level manual in the hope that extraordinary trust will secure extraordinary loyalty. He then recommends Ley and Loke into the leader's Martial Officer Department, unknowingly placing two infiltrators near the center of government. (Chapters 563–568)

Betrayal at the central garrison

As foreign forces and Jupiter's Lightning close on Scarlet Eye, Schiker returns to his father's residence with the key to its defensive formation. Leylin has already copied the bloodline-linked access token, allowing three Ouroboros Warlocks to infiltrate under the same protective signature. Bowens then strikes Schiker unconscious and brands him a spy while switching sides. (Chapters 569–573)

Schiker awakens to see that Ley, Loke, and Bowens have all deceived him. The revelation breaks the cold instructor's composure: the promotions, manual, and emotional trust he offered were exploited to penetrate his family. He does not flee after seeing Leylin overwhelm Bowens, accepting that Sky rank cannot decide a contest among Morning Stars. Leylin renders him unconscious again and uses his blood to reproduce Scarlet Eye's aura for the inner defenses. (Chapters 573–575)

Scarlet Eye cares for his son but refuses to surrender strategic objectives merely because Leylin possesses him. Schiker's eighth-level defense is useless against the higher-ranked strike that captures him, and his pure bloodline becomes a key others can imitate. The corpus does not establish what happens to Schiker after the confrontation, leaving him as a captive whose final fate is unknown. (Chapters 573–576)

Appearance and personality

Schiker has the forceful bearing of a professional officer and ordinarily keeps his emotions under military discipline. He is stern toward disorder, values obedience, and can threaten recruits without hesitation.

Beneath that severity he is proud of talented subordinates and deeply affected by apparent loyalty. He feels ashamed of being surpassed and longs for his father's recognition, but answers those insecurities with patronage rather than sabotage. This capacity for trust becomes the central vulnerability Leylin exploits.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Eighth-level Fireplume and Sky rank

Schiker cultivates Fireplume to the eighth level, the threshold of Sky rank and a native combat level comparable to a Rank 3 Magus. Fireplume integrates physique and soul, producing scarlet flames and a phoenix phantom rather than separating Knight and Magus development. Schiker can pressure entire recruit units with his force field and fight other Sky-rank experts directly. (Chapters 550–554, 557)

His phoenix and flames can be contaminated by curse runes, causing the fire to fade and wounds to spread. He is also below Star rank: a Morning Star-class opponent can kill Sky-rank generals, defeat his eighth-level defense immediately, or spare him for political reasons. No ninth-level breakthrough is recorded for Schiker. (Chapters 552–559, 573)

Fireplume instruction and the tenth-level manual

Schiker recognizes the levels and advancement signs of Fireplume, evaluates Ley's staged seventh-to-eighth-level breakthrough, and later believes Ley is nearing or has reached the ninth. He possesses access to the tenth-level manual, whose completion leads to Star rank, and gives it to Ley to secure loyalty. Access does not mean Schiker has mastered the tenth level; his own confirmed cultivation remains eighth. (Chapters 552–565)

Military command and intelligence

Schiker leads the eastern Special Task Force, assigns operational sectors, enforces formation discipline, coordinates army assets, evaluates battle intelligence, and recommends promotions. He can recognize when a victorious advance has broken formation and withdraw when a wounded Star-rank target exceeds his remaining force. His principal error is human intelligence: Ley and Loke perform loyalty convincingly enough to bypass his suspicion. (Chapters 550–568)

Bloodline-linked defensive access

As Scarlet Eye's son, Schiker carries a bloodline signature accepted by the leader's residence. A pendant or phoenix gem in his possession activates its protection, and his blood can be used with Bloodline Trace to imitate Scarlet Eye's aura. These are inherited and item-mediated access privileges, not proof that Schiker can control the complete formation or wield his father's Radiant Moon strength. (Chapters 570–575)

Relationships

• Leylin Farlier: Apparently a gifted subordinate named Ley, actually an infiltrator who betrays and captures him.
