Salilus

Biography

Curse of the Lord of Calamity

Salilus is a rank 8 Lord of Calamity already recovering from a prior disaster when Bodach steals his suolo gem, the treasure needed to restore what he lost. He converts vengeance into a pursuit spanning Dreamscape. Rather than search blindly, he gathers the accumulated malice of a continent into a poisonous curse tied to the thief. The curse both marks and torments Bodach, narrowing his routes until the one-eyed dragon is driven toward the Plains of Despair while Salilus's true body closes the distance. (Chapters 1055–1057)

Battle in Dreamscape

Salilus arrives as an immense armored giant wielding a black polearm, then sheds that shell to reveal a shriveled one-eyed body. His laws turn hatred, terror, and approaching disaster into both pressure and fuel, while decay breaks down matter and force around the targets. Bodach is the intended victim, but Leylin Farlier's intervention turns the chase into a two-against-one law battle. When ordinary calamity attacks cannot produce a decisive kill, Salilus invokes Final Decay, accepting damage and risk to release an indiscriminate end-stage dissolution. (Chapters 1057–1063)

Slain by the world's authority

Leylin's Nightmare Absorbing Physique wins the support of Dreamscape's World Will. The world seals and suppresses Salilus while Leylin converts its Origin Force into an attack, making an escape that might work elsewhere impossible. Salilus therefore falls not because his rank 8 laws simply fail against an ordinary rank 7, but because the battlefield itself becomes the stronger combatant. His death demonstrates the hard limit of a foreign law being opposed by a great world's will. (Chapters 1062–1066)

Appearance and personality

Salilus first manifests as a heavily armored giant and later reveals a slender, shriveled body with tanned skin and one red eye. He has a crow-like voice, immense pride, and an obsessive determination to reclaim the treasure required for his recovery.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Calamity, hatred, and terror

Salilus's path turns the expectation and emotion of disaster into law power. Hatred and terror generated by populations can feed his attacks, and accumulated malice can be condensed into a curse spanning a continent. The tracking effect remains tied to the target and directs pursuit, but it requires an enormous prepared emotional source rather than appearing as a costless mark cast from nowhere. (Chapters 1055–1059)

Decay and combat forms

He manifests a giant armored shell and black polearm for direct battle before revealing a smaller true body centered on one red eye. His law of decay dissolves opposing matter, energy, and defences, while the change of form lets him abandon damaged outer protection. Armor and polearm are manifested combat equipment associated with the form; the text does not establish them as independent relics carried outside the encounter. (Chapters 1057–1062)

Final Decay and limits

Final Decay is Salilus's ultimate escalation, intensifying dissolution beyond his ordinary law attacks. It is dangerous even to its caster and is chosen only after Bodach and Leylin prevent a quick victory. More decisively, all of Salilus's personal laws remain vulnerable to environmental authority: once Dreamscape's World Will supports Leylin, the world restricts escape and supplies Origin Force beyond what Salilus can counter. (Chapters 1061–1066)
