Biography
Contract with Four Seasons Garden
Reynold is a veteran rank 2 Magus, one of Four Seasons Garden's pioneers, and Wade's mentor. He summons the Trial's Eye to bind Leylin Farlier to an extrinsic-member contract, assigns him to potioneering, and later commands the organization's Eternal River Plains headquarters. As Leylin's strength and suspected dark-Magus connections become harder to ignore, Reynold approves efforts to test him and plans a private interrogation (Chapters 157–236).
Betrayal and death
Reynold combines Jaded Daro Flower juice with Intoxicated Dragon Petal pollen to lower Leylin's resistance, then uses a mind-probing spell to question him without technically violating their contract. Leylin secretly recovers and feeds him false answers. A rank 2 dark Magus attacks at that moment and lures Reynold away while Leylin and the higher-placed traitor Caesar compromise the headquarters. Reynold is killed off-page during the assault; Leylin later acknowledges that his own actions indirectly caused the death (Chapters 236–256).
Appearance and personality
Reynold appears as an elderly man with gold-rimmed glasses and a cane. He is genial and conversational on the surface, but calculating beneath it: he frames his interrogation so its ingredients are individually beneficial and therefore do not violate the Trial's Eye contract. He values Four Seasons Garden yet is also willing to seize a subordinate's inheritance if the expected benefit justifies the risk.
Magic, bloodline, and abilities
- Rank 2 spiritual force: His solidified silver spiritual force can probe a target and support hypnotic interrogation. The corpus does not provide a complete personal combat spell list (Chapters 157, 236–237).
- Trial's Eye contract: He can summon a more conscious and powerful Trial's Eye projection to witness binding agreements. This is an invoked external power governed by the contract's rules, not his personal familiar (Chapter 157).
- Plant magic: His office furniture is living plant matter; a vine chair moves, reshapes into a humanoid guard, and remains behind when he leaves to fight (Chapters 236–237).
- Command authority: Defensive formations, the formation genie, warehouses, and other headquarters systems belong to Four Seasons Garden. Reynold controls and protects them as chairman, but they are organizational assets rather than innate abilities.

- Leylin Farlier: Contracted member of Four Seasons Garden under Reynold's authority.

- Caesar: Senior subordinate and covert traitor whose access helps bring down the headquarters.
