Parker

Biography

A vassal planning for his family

Parker enters Leylin Farlier's service through Robin's introduction. He is a Black Horall Snake Warlock who has only recently reached Rank 3, but an adventurous life has left him old, poisoned, and burdened with injuries. Since the bloodline's natural ceiling is Rank 3 and Parker has not reached even the Vapour Phase, he no longer expects personal advancement. He chooses vassalage to secure a future for his family instead. (Chapters 409–410)

Leylin makes that bargain concrete by accepting Parker's grandson Snoopy as a disciple. Parker becomes Leylin's strongest initial subordinate and supervises Onyx Castle and the construction of its Magus Tower. He follows Leylin's blueprints precisely but refuses to decide the tower's energy circuits and formations without authorization, recognizing both the technical limits of his role and the danger of altering a high-ranked Magus's core installation. He is also trusted with contingency letters and territorial intelligence when Leylin undertakes dangerous expeditions. (Chapters 410–437, 464)

Enforcer and guardian during the clan crisis

Once the tower is active, Parker receives authority within it and helps oversee its positive and negative energy pools during Leylin's astral experiments. His understanding is practical: he knows that ordinary towers cannot bear the energy required for planar probing and can monitor whether the top-grade configuration is operating, but the actual spell formations remain Leylin's work. He also handles visitors and governance with Kubler, turning the castle into a functioning political and research center rather than merely a private residence. (Chapters 437–472)

Leylin then uses Parker as a field commander during the suppression of rebellious families. Parker leads Warlocks in the assault on the Stuart Family, captures a surviving elder, reports casualties, protects Snoopy during the chaos around Robin's household, and coordinates the extraction of Leylin's people. His loyalty includes judgment rather than blind silence: he warns Leylin when continued association with Robin could provoke suspicion, while still executing the decision once Leylin accepts the risk. (Chapters 477–490)

When the Ouroboros Clan's Morning Stars disappear, Parker supports evacuation and accepts Leylin's assessment that the remaining territories are unsafe. Leylin sends Parker and the Crystal Phase Magus Shadow to reinforce Freya, where Parker places his personnel under her command. He survives the fighting that culminates in Leylin's Morning Star breakthrough, seeing the vassalage he chose for his family become far more valuable than he anticipated. (Chapters 492–505)

Steward of a Morning Star's power

Parker serves as compere for Leylin's ducal ceremony and manages the enormous tribute offered by outside organizations. His contribution is the conversion of status into working administration: gifts are inventoried, territory and headquarters continue operating, and decisions are coordinated with Freya and Faisal while Leylin travels or researches. Leylin explicitly leaves Parker among the people empowered to handle clan affairs by majority decision. (Chapters 510–513)

He remains at the tower through Leylin's later astral work, alongside Snoopy and the clan's senior Warlocks. Parker does not overcome his own bloodline ceiling in the recorded corpus, but his original objective succeeds: association with Leylin protects his family, advances his grandson's position, and gives Parker influence far beyond what an aging Black Horall Snake Warlock could have obtained by solitary cultivation. (Chapters 538–542)

Appearance and personality

Parker's youthful Warlock appearance contrasts with an aged voice and a body carrying old poison and injuries. He is deferential without being inattentive, careful about the boundary between an assigned task and a decision reserved for his lord, and candid when political danger or casualties need to be reported.

His loyalty grows from calculated family strategy into genuine respect. After more than a century under Leylin, Parker trusts his scholarship and planning enough to reassure Snoopy during a crisis. He remains emotionally invested in the household's success, celebrating the tower's activation and Leylin's breakthrough while continuing the unglamorous accounting, staffing, and defensive work that makes those achievements durable.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Black Horall Snake bloodline and Rank 3 limit

Parker is a Rank 3 Black Horall Snake Warlock. The bloodline can support advancement to Rank 3 but has no established route to Morning Star; members with purer Giant Kemoyin Serpent bloodlines inspire instinctive inferiority in him despite sometimes holding a lower present rank. Bloodline potential and current battle power are therefore distinct: Parker is stronger than young lower-ranked nobles, but their inherited ceiling is higher. (Chapters 410, 412, 470)

He has only recently entered Rank 3 and remains below the Vapour Phase. His age, accumulated poison, and old wounds make even that next spiritual-force phase unrealistic. The Magus Tower's dense energy causes him to reflect that access to such an environment in youth might have enabled Hydro Phase, but the tower cannot retroactively remove his physical damage or bloodline ceiling. No later phase breakthrough is shown. (Chapters 410, 438)

Warlock combat and field command

Parker has centuries of dangerous experience and can lead Rank 3 Warlocks in actual combat. During the clan's enforcement campaign he coordinates an assault, seizes a hostile elder alive, protects Snoopy amid magical fighting, and organizes retreats and casualty accounting. The text does not name a signature personal spell or transformation for him, so his proven combat profile should not be expanded into assumed Black Horall techniques. His value lies in reliable Rank 3 force applied through disciplined command. (Chapters 477–490)

Parker can communicate through secret-technique imprints and deploy forces on Leylin's orders, but such imprints have limited range and can be intercepted or used to infer location. His operations also remain bounded by hierarchy: against Crystal Phase and Morning Star threats, he reinforces stronger commanders or evacuates rather than pretending Rank 3 strength can decide the engagement. (Chapters 477, 492–505)

Tower operations and territorial administration

Parker supervises construction from blueprint, distributes isolation plates, monitors the tower's energy pools, and understands the resource demands of astral experiments. These are learned technical and managerial competencies, not ownership of Leylin's formation designs. Leylin must personally construct the crucial circuits and spells, while Parker ensures that workers, materials, security, and operating instructions remain coordinated. (Chapters 410–470)

His administrative reach expands from Onyx Castle to Ouroboros headquarters. He receives nobles, assigns Kubler to household duties, inventories tribute, manages accounts, and participates in collective governance. The Magus Tower's laboratories, rooms, and authority levels are granted resources that improve his working environment; they are institutional and item-derived advantages rather than additions to his innate power. (Chapters 470–472, 510–542)
