Bloodline rivalry

Miranda enters Leylin Farlier's life as “Blood Serpent Miranda,” a senior Ouroboros Clan Warlock seeking a partner with an unusually pure Giant Kemoyin Serpent bloodline. She offers him five thousand contribution points, but treats his consent as secondary because he is weaker. When Freya intervenes, Miranda manifests serpent traits and black energy wisps and fights her rival with a red whip. Leylin's purer bloodline pressure disrupts the exchange and demonstrates that rank alone will not let Miranda dominate him (Chapter 400).

Miranda then proposes that she and Freya cooperate to capture Leylin, reasoning that either woman alone might let him escape. Their rivalry continues around clan duties, and both later return seriously injured from an otherwise undescribed mission.
