Biography

Gilbert's reserved senior student

Lucian is an older Crystal Phase Warlock and one of Gilbert's senior students. He is introduced helping Gilbert contain an astral creature, using Giant Kemoyin Serpent innate spells despite being close to serious injury. Earlier hardship has left him gloomy and socially withdrawn, so he sits apart even at Leylin Farlier's banquet. Robin explains that his attendance itself signals approval of their junior's advancement. (Chapters 407, 412)

His reserve does not prevent dependable action. Before entering the Forgotten Land, Leylin arranges for Parker to deliver a warning to Lucian if he fails to return on time. Lucian passes it to Gilbert as intended, allowing their Morning Star mentor to arrive before Demon Hunter Cyril can kill the stranded students. Leylin specifically cites the successful relay as proof that Lucian is trustworthy. (Chapters 435–436)

Intelligence and internal crisis

Lucian later takes charge of information within the Ouroboros Clan. When Leylin becomes an enforcement officer, Lucian gives him a crystal ball containing intelligence on internal unrest and families whose betrayal is nearly confirmed, while warning that a deeper purge will implicate many people. As Leylin reaches Crystal Phase and handles the traitors, Lucian's earlier distance changes into respect for his talent, humility, and reliability. (Chapter 478)

Defence and death

During the siege of headquarters, Lucian joins the clan's Crystal Phase leadership, carries messages and reinforcements between sectors, and secures Freya's formal transfer of tower-genie authority so the Magus Towers can combine their defences. He helps analyse the enemy's demon Magi and plant legion, approves activation of the Kemoyin Gargoyles, and continues fighting after the outer systems are understood or exhausted. (Chapters 494–500)

The enemy Morning Star's domain halves even Crystal Phase defenders' ability to gather elemental particles and makes spiritual force difficult to activate. Lucian suppresses a giant carnivorous flower as long as he can, but once the headquarters barrier falls, the ten-metre plant devours him. Later casualty reports confirm his death rather than an escape from the attack. (Chapters 501, 508)

Appearance and personality

Lucian is an older Warlock with a gloomy, reserved manner. He often sits away from social gatherings, and hardship is said to have made it difficult for him to open up. In operational settings he is cautious, loyal, and pragmatic: he warns Leylin about the scale of a purge, values tower owners who contribute to the collective defence, and sets aside internal grudges once the clan faces destruction. (Chapters 412, 478, 496–500)

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Crystal Phase Warlock

Lucian is a rank 3 Giant Kemoyin Serpent Warlock at the Crystal Phase, the highest stage below Morning Star. At his introduction he is the strongest of Gilbert's gathered students, and Leylin judges that he cannot bridge the gap even with his own trump cards. Lucian's rank gives him high authority and strong bloodline-enhanced combat power, but it does not protect him from a Morning Star domain. (Chapters 407, 412, 478, 501)

Intimidating Gaze and Toxic Bile

During Gilbert's astral experiment, Lucian releases Intimidating Gaze and shapes Toxic Bile into a trident that pierces half the body of a black octopus-like creature. The feat is performed while the creature threatens his life and costs enough spiritual force to leave him nearly seriously injured. These are Giant Kemoyin Serpent innate spells, not independent evidence of a separate elemental specialisation. (Chapter 407)

Intelligence and defensive authority

Lucian controls sensitive clan information and can prepare lists of confirmed traitors, distribute intelligence crystals, coordinate tower authority, and vote with a council rune to activate strategic defences. These capabilities come from office, access, and collective systems. The tower network, plant analysis, and Kemoyin Gargoyles are therefore resources he helps direct rather than personal spells he can deploy anywhere. (Chapters 478, 494–500)
