Jenna
Biography
Prophecy and pursuit
Jenna is a local Magus who guides Leylin Farlier into Teljose and immediately experiences a prophecy concerning him. Convinced that he is a traitor to fate, she later traps and attacks him with light magic. Leylin defeats her and leaves a curse that only he can remove (Chapters 146–203).
The Botelli legacy
Jenna's family bargains for the curse's cure by handing over the incomplete Sacred Flame meditation technique. The technique stores ancestral spirits inside its current bearer, making Jenna both the generation's seer and an increasingly unstable host. Although the cure awakens her, Leylin tracks the family and poisons its refuge. Jenna dies as the Giant Kemoyin Serpent toxin destroys the spirits within her (Chapters 255–269).
Appearance and personality
Jenna has an initially ordinary face that becomes solemn and holy during divination; her eyes turn completely white when prophecy takes hold. She is friendly on first meeting but fanatically committed to her family's vision of peace and fate.
Magic, bloodline, and abilities
- Sacred Flame divination: The incomplete high-grade meditation technique strengthens Jenna's sixth sense and lets her perceive possible futures. Its predictions are not infallible: Leylin acts outside the outcome she foresaw. The technique accumulates ancestral spirits inside the current guide, granting their knowledge at the cost of progressively eroding the host's independent identity and sanity (Chapters 147, 201–202, 255–269).
- Prepared formations and concealment: Jenna follows Leylin without detection, disguises herself in black fog, and prepares a white-light restraint formation tailored to his weaknesses. These are her demonstrated planning and spellcasting feats (Chapter 201).
- Innate defence: A milky-white defensive membrane protects her when Leylin closes to melee range. The corpus identifies this as her innate spell, not a property of her robes (Chapter 202).
- Artifact-supplied magic: The rainbow blast, lava fireball, frost shields, mental stabilisation, and emergency body-substitution effect seen in her duel are released by gems in her family necklace. They should not be treated as Jenna's personal fire or frost spell repertoire (Chapters 201–202).
Relationships
- Leylin Farlier: The “traitor to fate” she attacks and the Magus whose curse and poison kill her.
- Manla: Her protective uncle and early companion in Teljose.
- Botelli matriarch: The elder who bargains with Leylin to preserve Jenna as the family's prophetic guide.
Items
- Botelli heirloom necklace: A multi-gem magic artifact loaded with offensive, defensive, mental, and escape effects. Its final Ultimate Guard of Life substitutes Jenna out of petrification, after which the necklace turns to stone and shatters (Chapters 201–202).
- White ring: A residence token used to enter Nightless City, not a combat artifact (Chapter 147).
