Jeffrey

Jeffrey is one of the rank 5 leaders who preserve the central continent's bloodline Warlocks inside the Morning Star Area. A cautious protector and political intermediary, he welcomes Leylin Farlier, explains the danger surrounding their kind, and gradually transfers his hope in the prophesied Bloodline Monarch from Bevis to Leylin.

Biography

Invitation to the final fort

Jeffrey first approaches Leylin after the latter's battle with hostile Radiant Moons. He appears as a large crimson bat bearing a speaking human face on its abdomen, an extension whose soul and bloodline aura Leylin recognizes as the protector he encountered when first exploring the Morning Star Area. Jeffrey says he had been watching out of concern that Leylin's attackers might harm him, then formally invites the new rank 5 Warlock to the bloodline Warlocks' final fortress. Inside the Area, Jeffrey meets him in his youthful main body and introduces fellow leaders Wayde and Offa. (Chapters 627–628)

A people under suppression

Jeffrey and the other leaders explain that the Blazing Flame Monarch's faction has tried to extinguish Warlock inheritances and that only the elders' timely advancement and transformation of the Morning Star Area into a battle fort prevented extermination. Jeffrey also shares the prophecy of a future Bloodline Monarch. Because inherited shackles ordinarily cap Warlocks at the level allowed by their ancestral bloodline, the Union treats a viable rank 6 lineage as a rare hope for collective survival. Jeffrey encourages Leylin to remain in the fortified Area and treats his security as a concern larger than one individual's freedom. (Chapters 627–634)

Bevis and the burden of prophecy

The Union initially invests its greatest expectation in Bevis, whose rank 6 bloodline appears to offer a direct route past the ceiling that traps other Warlocks. Jeffrey's support is strategic rather than merely personal: he wants a leader capable of deterring Monarchs and ending generations of suppression. That priority also shapes his advice to Leylin. When Melinda proposes an attack on the Blazing Flame Monarch, Jeffrey warns against a plan that could provoke disaster and urges caution instead of allowing justified anger to gamble the remaining Warlock stronghold. (Chapters 639–650)

Recognition of the true Monarch

Leylin's achievements overturn the leaders' earlier assumptions. His altered Kemoyin bloodline evolves beyond its known ancestral limit, and he publicly establishes himself at rank 6 while revealing that he is already approaching rank 7. Jeffrey understands that this is the breakthrough the old prophecy promised: not simply possession of a higher-grade inherited line, but the creation of a new path capable of freeing Warlocks from fixed bloodline shackles. He recognizes Leylin rather than Bevis as the Bloodline Monarch and joins the other leaders in yielding to his authority rather than obstructing his plans. (Chapters 667–669 and 766–770)

Appearance and personality

Jeffrey's main body looks like a young man with long crimson hair hanging loose behind him. His remote manifestation is a blood-red bat with his face on its abdomen, visually tying his Warlock identity to the bloodline aura Leylin senses.

He is welcoming and often good-humored in conversation, but that warmth sits beside deep institutional caution. Jeffrey has survived long enough to think in terms of inheritances, fortresses, deterrence, and the continued existence of an entire population. His initial confidence in Bevis shows how badly he wants the prophecy to supply a solution; his willingness to recognize Leylin later shows that he can revise that belief when confronted with stronger evidence. (Chapters 627–650 and 766–770)

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Rank 5 Warlock power

Jeffrey is a rank 5 Radiant Moon Warlock. His soul and bloodline aura are sufficiently distinct that Leylin identifies him even through a remote form, and his rank places him among the few leaders capable of helping deter hostile Breaking Dawn Monarchs. Radiant Moon combat is described as devastating enough to damage terrain and contaminate an area indirectly, but the corpus does not give Jeffrey a named offensive spell or a complete personal battle sequence. His article therefore does not assign him techniques demonstrated by other rank 5s. (Chapter 627)

Crimson-bat manifestation

Jeffrey can act through a large blood-red bat whose abdomen carries a young human face. The manifestation observes the aftermath of Leylin's fight, speaks independently, conveys Jeffrey's recognizable soul fluctuations, and guides Leylin into the Morning Star Area before Jeffrey's main body receives him. The text distinguishes this emissary from that main body, indicating remote presence or a clone-like extension rather than physical transformation of Jeffrey's only body. Its combat capacity and maximum operating range are not stated. (Chapter 627)

Bloodline perception and strategic judgment

As an ancient high-ranked Warlock, Jeffrey can recognize meaningful shifts in bloodline power and understand what Leylin's evolution means for the inherited ceiling. He also applies long institutional experience to threat assessment, advising Leylin against Melinda's high-risk operation and evaluating candidates against the Bloodline Monarch prophecy. This is informed perception and political judgment, not prophecy cast by Jeffrey himself: the prophecy is intelligence the Union discovered, and Bevis's or Leylin's bloodlines are not powers Jeffrey can use. (Chapters 627, 648–650, and 766–770)

Fortress authority and limits

Jeffrey is one of the protectors who governs the Morning Star Area, but its spatial separation, defenses, robot servants, and conversion into a gigantic battle fort are shared infrastructure created and operated by the Union's elders. They strengthen Jeffrey while he is inside and give the leaders strategic leverage against Monarchs; they should not be listed as spells inherent to his body. The corpus likewise does not name Jeffrey's ancestral creature, enumerate his spell repertoire, or identify a personal law. (Chapters 627–639)

Relationships

  • Leylin Farlier: Jeffrey welcomes him as a fellow Archduke, protects and advises him, then recognizes his self-created bloodline advancement as the fulfillment of the Union's prophecy.
  • Offa and Wayde: Fellow rank 5 executives with whom Jeffrey operates the Warlock Union's headquarters and safeguards its surviving inheritances.
  • Bevis: Bearer of a rank 6 bloodline whom Jeffrey initially supports as the likeliest Bloodline Monarch. Leylin's evolution ultimately supersedes that expectation.
  • Melinda: Architect of the plan against the Blazing Flame Monarch. Jeffrey distrusts the danger of her proposal and warns Leylin not to risk the Union on it.

Items

  • Morning Star Area: A separated space transformed into the Warlocks' final battle fort and headquarters. Jeffrey helps protect and govern it, but it is communal infrastructure rather than a personal artifact. (Chapters 627–639)
  • Crimson-bat manifestation: A projected or clone-like form produced by Jeffrey's power, catalogued under abilities rather than treated as an independent possession.

The Chapter 154–155 occurrences of “Jeffrey” refer to a different common-name character and are excluded.
