Biography

Guardian of the Thunderbird inheritance

Eam first treats Leylin Farlier as an intruder in Lyers territory. He tests him with five amplified bolts of Booming Thunderclap followed by the rank 5 Thorned Thundercry, accepting him as an equal only after Leylin survives the combination. Eam then identifies himself as the family's sole rank 5 and grand elder. He explains that his ancestors settled near the Thunderbird Holy Land to control the sealed route to the surface, making his family the natural partner for anyone opening the passage from above. Alliance at the sealed passage

Eam and Leylin swear a general alliance to connect their respective ends of the passage, leaving the details to later negotiation. Eam keeps Leylin's surface origin confidential while publicly recognising him as a rank 5 ally. Their trust remains limited: each controls something the other needs, and Leylin copies the runes displayed by Eam's robe without telling him. The resulting exploration treaty is only an agreement of intent with no deadline, so Leylin postpones returning until he has greater strength. (Chapters 690–704)

Trade supervisor under Leylin

When Leylin eventually returns, Eam has completed his preparations and complains about the delay. The balance between them changes immediately: Eam sees King Arthur obey Leylin and learns that his former equal has reached the realm of laws. He kneels, accepts revised terms, and becomes the local supervisor of the surface–subterranean trade passage, with Arthur assisting and Leylin's representatives overseeing the larger organisation. Eam accepts a share of the profits and receives Leylin's law rune as a trade token, communication mark, and emergency source of borrowed power. (Chapters 762–765)

Appearance and personality

Eam is a middle-aged man with the Lyers family's dark-blue hair, silver pupils, and pale skin. He is intensely proud and initially uses combat to decide whether another Magus deserves equal treatment. That arrogance is practical rather than suicidal: once Leylin's status surpasses his own, Eam suppresses his pride, becomes deferential, and accepts reduced terms to protect his family and secure its future. Magic, bloodline, and abilities

• Thorned Thunderbird bloodline: Eam is a rank 5 bloodline Warlock descended from an ancient rank 6 creature. The inheritance makes the Lyers family naturally proficient in lightning magic and allows Eam to manifest a giant Thunderbird phantom or transform into a blue thunderbird for flight. (Chapters 689–690 and 762)
• Booming Thunderclap: A Lyers Arcane Art assembled from inherited innate spells, energy patterns, and spell models. It requires Thorned Thunderbird bloodline force. Eam normally casts one lightning attack, but the formation on his robe reproduces its effect as five converging bolts that close off escape routes. (Chapters 689–690)
• Thorned Thundercry: A rank 5 spell cast through a Thorned Thunderbird phantom. The phantom's cry carries both thunder-and-lightning power and destructive sound waves, letting Eam layer a second attack over the amplified Thunderclap. (Chapter 689)
• Limits of the primordial runes: Eam preserved naturally formed runes from a primordial lightning tree by embroidering them on his robe, but he cannot systematically break down or generalise their enormous formation. Leylin's A.I. Chip performs that derivation; its broader amplification results are not an ability Eam demonstrates. (Chapters 690–691)
• Leylin's law rune: The mark Eam receives can authenticate trade, contact Leylin while he remains in the Magus World, and channel a grant of Leylin's devouring power through sacrifice. It is borrowed protection from Leylin, not Eam's own lightning spell. (Chapter 764)

Relationships

• Leylin Farlier: Initially a tested equal and treaty partner; later Eam's law-rank superior and the patron of the trade route.
• King Arthur: Eam's sovereign and later his assistant in supervising the passage. Arthur's submission to Leylin reveals how far Leylin has surpassed Eam.

• Primordial Magic Robe: A robe embroidered with 127,651 ancient lightning runes copied from a primordial lightning tree. It slightly strengthens other lightning spells and amplifies Booming Thunderclap fivefold, but that extreme increase is specific to Thunderclap rather than a universal multiplier. (Chapters 690–691)
