Dolorin
Biography
Defence-team administrator
Dolorin serves as vice leader of Four Seasons Garden's defence team in the Eternal River Plains. He presents a friendly face to members of his own organisation but regards Leylin Farlier as a politically unwanted Magus likely to die. The map he issues assigns Leylin to Zone 13, a highland surrounded by dark-Magus territory. Dolorin distances himself from an apparent liability rather than investing resources in his survival. (Chapters 205–206)
Leylin instead returns with exceptional battlefield merits. Dolorin immediately reevaluates him as a dangerous prospect whose resentment could become costly, personally delivers the merit medal, and offers access to the exchange centre. To repair the relationship he uses his own authority for a ten-percent discount. Leylin exploits the offer so thoroughly that Dolorin exhausts part of his monthly allocation and leaves with an icy expression, but the public reconciliation prevents immediate conflict. (Chapters 212–213)
Murder and manufactured disappearance
During the dark Magi assault, Dolorin encounters Leylin and appears pleased while considering an undisclosed plan. Leylin launches a full-power surprise attack before that plan develops. Crimson palms pierce Dolorin's innate defensive formation like paper and reduce the rank 1 Magus to ashes. A grey-skull secret imprint rises from the remains, but Leylin destroys it before it can preserve or transmit a useful trace. (Chapters 238–239)
Leylin then creates a shadow clone, shapes it into Dolorin's appearance, and orders it to show itself before dying opportunely in battle. This deception is why later defenders report the vice leader merely missing. The report does not make Dolorin's fate genuinely unresolved; the earlier scene explicitly establishes his death and the substitute used to obscure it. (Chapters 239 and 244)
Appearance and personality
Dolorin is a brawny adult man who wears white robes in battle. He uses expressive friendliness as a political tool, dismissing a likely casualty and then smiling through the cost of placating a successful subordinate. He is attentive to status and risk, but fails to anticipate that Leylin will treat him as an obstacle worth removing during the collapse. (Chapters 205–239)
Magic, bloodline, and abilities
Rank 1 Magus
Dolorin is an official rank 1 Magus below the peak of that rank. His position gives him authority over deployments and rewards, not rank 2 strength. Leylin, already near the top of rank 1, kills him in one surprise attack. The ambush prevents a fair measure of Dolorin's offence, so no combat specialisation can be established. (Chapters 205–213 and 239)
Innate defensive formation
An innate spell formation activates around Dolorin when Leylin strikes. The crimson palms pass through it like paper, showing that it provides automatic or rapid protection but cannot withstand Leylin's full Warlock attack. The corpus gives no name, element, reserve, or demonstrated success against another opponent. (Chapter 239)
Administrative authority
Dolorin can assign defence zones, certify merit, escort members into the exchange centre, and spend a limited monthly allocation to reduce prices by ten percent. This authority is constrained by Four Seasons Garden's rules and costs him merit once his allowance is exceeded. It is an institutional privilege rather than magical creation of resources. (Chapters 205–213)
The shapeshifting shadow double seen after his death is Leylin's spell and should not be attributed to Dolorin.

- Four Seasons Garden defence leader: His direct superior, killed in the battle where Dolorin vanishes.
Items
- Merit medal: Records Leylin's battlefield credit and grants access to earned rewards; Dolorin delivers it but does not own the merits. (Chapter 212)
- Blood-red discount card: Activates Dolorin's authority to reduce exchange-centre prices by ten percent, drawing on a limited allocation that can cost him personally. (Chapter 213)
