Cybel

Biography

Warlock alliance

Cybel is the eldest Warlock of Wind Wolf Lair and grandfather of Palesa. His concentrated bloodline aura frightens even Leylin Farlier, but he receives Gilbert's student as an ally and grants him the astral coordinates of a Morning Star transaction plane. Cybel explains why its position beside the Magus World makes remote trade economical, sharing access that Leylin would ordinarily have received from his missing mentors (Chapter 521).

Cybel also leads the coalition against Jupiter's Lightning. The three Kemoyin Dukes and Cybel had previously pressured a Radiant Moon opponent together; after the Dukes disappear, he pays a substantial price to recruit a Radiant Moon Warlock and negotiates a revised binding contract with Leylin. His intelligence, agreements, and deployment plan assign Cybel three opposing Morning Stars while Leylin takes the remaining one (Chapters 521–523).

Scarlet Crescent losses

The sudden opening of the Scarlet Crescent ruins disrupts that orderly campaign. Cybel studies its Naraku Type 2 maze, enforces turn-taking among temporary allies, and protects weaker Morning Stars through the early traps. When vines block the route, he releases an all-annihilating storm larger than Philip's to clear the obstacle (Chapters 526, 530).

The deeper ancient formations prove capable of killing Morning Stars. They kill Palesa, injure Philip, and grievously wound Cybel, who nearly falls from the Morning Star realm. He survives, but the losses prevent him from challenging Leylin's account of the expedition. By Chapter 542 he has withdrawn into concealment and has only the strength of a regular Morning Star (Chapters 533, 542).

Appearance and personality

Cybel appears old and perpetually sleepy, speaking slowly with his eyes often closed. The manner conceals fierce resolve: when he opens his eyes in anger, the effect is compared to painful lightning, and his call for retaliation gives him a heroic bearing. He is generous enough to admit a young allied Warlock to exclusive trade, but also impatient for the campaign and exacting about contracts and spoils.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Cybel begins as a peak Morning Star Wind Wolf Warlock capable of taking on three ordinary Morning Stars at once. His concentrated bloodline aura frightens Leylin, and his demonstrated attack gathers enormous energy into an all-annihilating storm larger than the one used by fellow Wind Wolf Warlock Philip. The chapters show the storm clearing a huge barrier, but do not give it a formal spell name or exact radius (Chapters 521, 523, 530).

His experience includes the structure of transaction planes, binding contracts, ancient Warlock mazes, and coalition strategy. These are learned and institutional competencies, not separate magical powers. Nor does granting coordinates mean that Cybel personally created the transaction plane; Radiant Moon Warlocks established it for the wider community (Chapters 521–522, 526).

Scarlet Crescent defines his durability limit. Ancient formations and a rank 5 battlefield can wound even peak Morning Stars, leaving Cybel close to losing his realm and permanently reducing his effective strength to an ordinary Morning Star level within the supplied scope (Chapters 533, 542).

Relationships

  • Palesa: His granddaughter and fellow Morning Star, killed in the ruins.
  • Philip: A Wind Wolf Lair subordinate who carries out his instructions.
  • Leylin Farlier: An allied Warlock whom Cybel admits to the transaction plane.
  • Jupiter's Lightning: The rival organisation targeted by his coalition.

Items

  • Transaction-plane coordinates: A ball of light containing astral coordinates that Cybel orders Philip to give Leylin; access still requires Leylin to establish his own astral gate (Chapter 521).
  • Binding campaign contract: A document witnessed by the domain of righteousness and amended to govern benefits, contributions, and emergency withdrawal among the allied Warlocks (Chapter 522).
