Biography
A king behind the auction
The Azure Mountain King, founder of Azure Mountain City and progenitor of the Oakheart Clan, controls a large share of the region's auctions. He captures stardust bugs during an interplanar experiment, tames them as nearly undetectable probes, and lets the clan use them to expose supposedly anonymous traders. After the clan targets Leylin Farlier and Leylin kills its chief, the Azure Mountain King sends a clone into Ouroboros territory to exact revenge (Chapters 446–488).
The fallen clone
The clone suppresses Leylin's connection to elemental particles, attacks him with soul-force blades, and pursues him through West Seas Canyon. Leylin gathers data from the fighting, escapes the first engagement, and later destroys the clone with Storm Annihilation. The defeat becomes an embarrassing story among the central continent's Morning Stars and makes the Azure Mountain King wary of treating Leylin as an ordinary junior (Chapters 488–503).
Withdrawal
The Azure Mountain King joins the allied pressure on the Ouroboros Clan but reassesses the campaign when Leylin returns as a Morning Star. Leylin threatens to reveal both the stardust-bug surveillance and compromising images kept by the Oakheart chief. Zack switches from opponent to supporter, withdraws his troops, and agrees under a Trial's Eye oath to fund a Morning Star Magus Tower and astral gate in exchange for secrecy. Their resulting cooperation is leverage-driven rather than friendship (Chapters 502–513, 582).
Appearance and personality
The Azure Mountain King has blue hair and eyes that twinkle like stars. He is proud and status-conscious, but sufficiently pragmatic to retreat rather than risk his main body after losing a clone.
Magic, bloodline, and abilities
- Morning Star clone: He can deploy a clone with peak rank 3 reserves but genuine soul force and Morning Star spell knowledge. Its destruction costs him an extension of his power, not his main body (Chapters 488–503).
- Elemental suppression: A circular mirror manifestation reflects a target, after which he can sever or drastically weaken that target's connection to ambient elemental particles (Chapter 488).
- Soul-force combat: His clone forms light blades that attack both body and sea of consciousness, a starry facial barrier, full-body Soul Armour, and a domain that hampers movement (Chapters 488–489).
- Stardust-bug research: He discovers, tames, and modifies extraplanar stardust bugs into covert probes. The Oakheart Clan's auction-wide surveillance network is an institutional deployment of that research, not an innate sense (Chapters 455–460).
Relationships
- Leylin Farlier: Younger Warlock who destroys his clone and deters his later campaign.
- Oakheart Clan: His descendants and the operators of the auction and surveillance system he protects.
Items
No unique personal artifact is consistently identified. The mirror, soul armour, and clone are manifested techniques; the stardust bugs and later military forces are clan or faction resources.
