Biography
Blood feud with Leylin
Alric pursues Leylin Farlier after Leylin kills his only son, Jojane. He attacks the secret plane and nearly follows Leylin through its ancient teleportation formation, leaving a tracking mark in Leylin's sea of consciousness. Over the following centuries he becomes one of the south coast's strongest rank 3 light Magi and attempts to eradicate the Farlier bloodline (Chapters 286–295, 670–674).
Defeat and punishment
When Leylin returns, Alric attacks him with holy light but discovers the former fugitive has risen far beyond rank 3. Leylin strips his spiritual force, kills his body by extracting his soul, and curses his bloodline. A void assassin is ordered to destroy everyone Alric treasures while forcing his soul to watch, then imprison it in subterranean lava (Chapters 674–679).
Appearance and personality
Alric wears a gold-trimmed scholar's cloak and manifests white wings of light. He is authoritative and revered by light Magi, but vindictive obsession with his son turns him ruthless toward Leylin's entire family.
Magic, bloodline, and abilities
- Holy-light domain: Alric's rank 3 forcefield forms a domain of aggressive holy light that melts weaker Magi and their defences. He can condense it into enormous sacred-light arms or thousands of platinum-flame javelins (Chapters 286–287, 674–675).
- Purification: Light of Saint's Glory pacifies and draws in hostile spirits, allowing him to counter Gargamel's resentment-based attacks. The ancient being can still wound him through detonating spirits and plague toxins (Chapter 287).
- Flight: He manifests a large pair of light wings to pursue or flee at high speed (Chapters 287, 675).
- Death mark: Killing Jojane triggers a milky-white spiritual mark prepared by Alric. It periodically broadcasts Leylin's position and resists removal by a rank 2 Warlock, but great distance and the destroyed teleportation link eventually prevent pursuit. This is tracking magic placed on an enemy, not a carried item (Chapters 286–295).
- Ancient formation interaction: Alric pours rank 3 spiritual force and a high-grade energy crystal into the ancient teleportation formation, accelerating it despite not knowing the Turin language. The attempt fails once Leylin destroys the destination formation, so this does not demonstrate mastery over ancient spell arrays (Chapter 287).
Relationships
- Leylin Farlier: His son's killer and the target of his centuries-long vendetta.
- Jojane: His only son, whose death motivates the feud.
- Krupp: A surviving Farlier descendant whom Alric intends to torture and use for bloodline tracking.
Items
No unique personal artifact is confirmed. The death mark is a spell triggered through Jojane's death, while the gold-trimmed scholar's cloak forms when Alric withdraws his holy-light domain and is therefore a manifestation of his magic rather than separate equipment (Chapters 286, 674).
