Tian Yang

Tian Yang, better known as the Void Old Immortal, is the Grand Elder of Celestial Star Palace and the master of Damien Void and Xue Ruyue. Beneath his leisurely, sagely manner is an adventurous former Dimensional Leaderboard figure whose Space Divinity was shattered during his revenge for his murdered family. He becomes a guardian and teacher to a new generation, leads the Human Domain back into universal affairs, and rebuilds his cultivation after his Divinity is restored.

Biography

Master of Celestial Star Palace

Tian Yang first appears as the Grand Elder supervising the Celestial Star Palace examination. Recognizing Damien's unusual talent, he waives the ordinary uncertainty surrounding admission and personally asks the young spatial practitioner to become his disciple. His motive is not simply to secure prestige for the sect: he sees a student whose affinity can benefit from knowledge few people possess. He also treats Long Chen fairly, directing him toward the many elders competing to teach him rather than diminishing a second genius to flatter his new disciple. (Chapter 136)

His instruction gives Damien and Ruyue both conceptual direction and controlled danger. He explains that third class is preparation for Law Connection, demonstrates how elemental force develops into Laws, and lets the disciples reach conclusions rather than handing them every answer. Spars and combat demonstrations accompany the lectures, with Tian Yang relocating battles and containing their collateral damage. The result is a mentorship built on comprehension and experience: his students are expected to discover personal paths, while he provides the knowledge and safety margin that make discovery survivable. The teacher reveals his battlefield

When the Cloud Plane's purge exposes Xue Yebai, Tian Yang turns a personal confrontation into a lesson for Damien. He redirects attacks through space, folds distance so an enemy cannot approach, creates spatial blades without depending on ambient essence, and compresses his Territory to execute the traitorous clan head. The victory changes Damien's understanding of him. Tian Yang is no longer merely an elder with useful lectures, but a master whose actual combat shows how spatial principles can replace conventional offense and defense. (Chapters 453–456)

Tian Yang later reveals himself as the Void Old Immortal and one of the Human Domain's strongest Demigods during the Niflheim crisis. He restrains Wrath to protect Damien, burns blood vitality when ordinary effort is insufficient, and teleports thousands of soldiers away while resisting a world-destroying attraction. Even after the battle, he attempts to reach Damien inside a Dead Zone and is deeply shaken when the disciple disappears. Rebuilding the Human Domain's place

After the Niflheim campaign, Tian Yang organizes the Human Domain's combined forces into a genuine army. His training is deliberately brutal, prioritizing rapid leveling, elemental comprehension, and the psychological control needed for war even when weaker trainees cannot survive it. The Dead Zone regimen for Rose and Ruyue epitomizes his method: remove ambient Laws so each practitioner must confront only their own path. Tian Yang accepts the moral weight of dangerous preparation because he believes an unready generation will suffer even greater losses against the Nox. (Chapters 689–695)

At the Grand Assembly he introduces the Human Domain without apology, using his Demigod presence and the performances of its geniuses to challenge the wider universe's contempt. While stationed in the Beast Domain, Tian Yang guides a supposedly marginalized camp into destroying Nox pocket dimensions with exceptional efficiency. He and the Golden Dragon Emperor also use their old friendship to assess traitors, coordinate with Luciel, and support Judgement Order from the shadows. That strength conceals a lasting wound. Damien infers that Tian Yang's Divinity is fractured because he can intervene where an intact lower-universe Divinity would be restricted, and the history is later confirmed: enemies murdered Tian Yang's wife and child, and his retaliatory assault destroyed the responsible force but shattered his Divinity during the final revenge battle. His protective attachment to Damien and Ruyue thus grows beside an earlier catastrophic loss. He does not replace his dead family, but turns grief into patient guardianship instead of isolation. Restoration and renewed ascent

Tian Yang receives a chance to restore the broken Divinity and initially recovers most of his former power while deliberately remaining at the edge of Divinity, allowing him to command the lower war directly. Alexander later heals the Divinity itself. Tian Yang uses the recovered foundation immediately rather than treating restoration as retirement: he serves as an older-generation advisor, joins the final lower-universe battle, and helps kill Nox Supremes who once would have defined an impossible threat. Restoration does not simply return Tian Yang to his old endpoint. The healed foundation requires him to start his progression again, and by the Sacred Abyss war he has only recently rebuilt to the peak of Demigodhood. He is no longer among the central powers deciding that final battlefield, yet the result does not invalidate his development. A man once trapped by shattered Divinity has a future path again, remains personally important to Damien, and benefits indirectly from the Void's blessing without being carried past the work of reconstruction. Appearance and personality

Tian Yang is presented as an old man with the bearing of a wise sage. His ordinary presence is gentle and leisurely enough to fit a retired Grand Elder, but when he becomes serious it changes into the domineering air of a war emperor. The contrast is intentional: the public image of the Void Old Immortal conceals the battle-hungry traveler once known as Crazy Bastard Yang Tian, and his grin in combat often looks distinctly unsuited to the dignified façade. He is playful, proud of his disciples, and fond of provocation, but his humor never eliminates practical judgment. Tian Yang can tease Wrath to invite a desired fight, boast to old friends, and embarrass himself while trying to look impressive, yet he also knows when to coordinate armies or speak plainly about a deteriorating war. His harsh training and willingness to burn blood vitality show the same principle from opposite sides: he accepts immediate pain when he believes it preserves a meaningful future. Family loyalty is the deepest continuity in his behavior. The murder of his wife and child drove an act of revenge that cost his Divinity; later, he channels comparable intensity into protecting Damien and Ruyue without demanding they remain dependent. He wants his students to surpass him and ascend where his own chains once prevented him from going. Abilities, laws, and evolution

Space Laws and Divinity

Tian Yang builds his Divinity on Space Laws and treats space itself, not merely ambient spatial essence, as his medium. He moves through spatial folds, suppresses or locks enormous regions, redirects attacks while preserving their momentum, and changes traversed distance so a charging opponent arrives somewhere else. Because occupied territory necessarily exists within space, an elemental Territory cannot truly remove his foundation. This makes him unusually difficult to suppress, but it does not make him omnipotent: conceptual feats such as Damien's Dimension Shift remain beyond Tian Yang's more direct spatial path. His offense follows from manipulating structure. Spatial blades teleport through irregular patterns; folded regions crush what is trapped within them; shattered space produces a void dangerous even to Demigods; barriers can be bypassed by attacking the space behind them. Teleportation is both Tian Yang's most visible technique and his primary protective tool. He can transport groups across planetary distances, conceal teleportation ripples, lock another spatial user in place, and establish routes through otherwise hostile space. In the Niflheim collapse he combines burning vitality with Damien's healing to evacuate armies, while chaotic essence and the sinkhole's pull sharply increase the cost. Tian Yang also functions as a battlefield coordinator. The method avoids copying his straightforward spatial path onto Damien's more conceptual one. It also extends to army training: Dead Zones isolate practitioners from universal Laws so their individual comprehensions become perceptible, though the regimen carries genuine mortal danger. Strategically, he reads unstable spatial phenomena, detects remote observation, raids pocket dimensions, and contributes to inter-domain war planning. These abilities depend on experience accumulated across roughly fifty thousand years and journeys outside the isolated Human Domain. They do not grant perfect information: he cannot identify every watcher, cannot initially perceive the full nature of Damien's Void phenomena, and relies on trusted networks for political intelligence. Shattered and restored Divinity

Tian Yang's shattered Divinity leaves him powerful enough to be called a Demigod and to match top universal experts, but fundamentally incomplete. The fracture explains why lower-universe restrictions do not treat him like an intact Divinity and why he cannot continue normally toward Godhood. The restoration chance returns most of his power while he holds himself at the edge of Divinity for tactical freedom; Alexander's later healing repairs the foundation, but does not erase the need to rebuild its cultivation. By the final war Tian Yang has climbed back to peak Demigodhood. This is a recovery milestone rather than a claim that he regained every advantage of his former life or reached Godhood.
