Beris — The World After the Fall

Beris is a sixteenth-ranked Metaverse god known for gacha broadcasts, an enormous Skin collection, and the enhancement Setting 「Crimson Flame Blade」. Beris turns Alliance Mogi's attack on Jaehwan into sponsored entertainment, but loses control of the encounter as the opponents and supposed allies refuse to follow the planned spectacle.

Biography

The Metaverse and its gods

Beris builds a popular Floor Seven broadcast around gacha draws and a heavily sponsored Skin collection. When clips of Jaehwan's “Naked Stab” begin outperforming Beris's channel, the broadcaster first dismisses them and then seizes on Alliance leader Galateon's call as a more profitable story. Joining Mogi's advance force, Beris presents its attack as a defense of the Metaverse against terrorists even though the Alliance considers the targets manageable and has paid Beris 500,000 trust. The exaggerated framing is explicitly commercial: Beris expects violence against Jaehwan, Andersen, and Ethan Cart to become major content for incoming passengers. (Chapters 120 and 122)

Beris equips successive Legendary Skins and fights Jaehwan with 「Crimson Flame Blade」, but the newly drawn 「Demon King of Salvation Kim Dokja」 Skin has poor durability and embedded effects that offer no practical rescue. After Jihan traps Jaehwan and Ethan in the Time Cube, Beris discards the ruined Skin, equips 「Delusional Demon Kim Namwoon」, and tries to kill Runald for the broadcast. Runald's Light Stab wounds Beris's hand, and Jin Eunsae then intervenes, overwhelming Beris despite the god's higher confidence and extensive collection. (Chapters 122–125)

Badly battered, Beris returns while Jihan is attempting to take Andersen's power and presses the Vicegerent to act quickly. Jihan responds by piercing Beris's chest and destroying the manifested Doll's heart, forcibly ending the broadcast. A system message states that the God of Gacha is enraged by the Doll's death, distinguishing the remote god from the destroyed body. The corpus does not show Beris afterward, so the god remains alive at the latest direct update while the advance-force manifestation is lost. (Chapter 126)

Appearance and personality

Beris's Doll first appears as a magpie-haired man. In battle the body wears changing Skins; one scene specifically notes a fingerless-gloved hand gripping a blade, while later damage reduces the body and clothes to rags before Jihan destroys its heart. Because these features belong to a Metaverse Doll and equipped Skins, they do not necessarily establish the remote god's underlying appearance. (Chapters 120, 123–124, and 126)

Beris is theatrical, vain, and commercially opportunistic. The broadcaster blocks criticism, accepts promotions, inflates danger for views, and treats weaker people as content. Beris also places excessive faith in rarity and collection bonuses, repeatedly assuming that an expensive Legendary Skin must contain an effect capable of reversing defeat. That confidence collapses against Jaehwan and Jin Eunsae, yet even while losing, Beris keeps looking for a way to turn the fight into a show. (Chapters 120 and 122–125)

Powers and limitations

Crimson Flame Blade and World Power

「Crimson Flame Blade」 is Beris's enhancement-type Setting. It gathers scorching flame and World Power around multiple thrown blades; at full power, one such blade can split a mid-grade god's Vicegerent, and Beris can deploy ten at once or recall them for repeated attacks. It is weaker than Ignis's representative Setting 「Crimson Flame Tribulation」. Jaehwan deflects the blades, Runald's Stab still wounds Beris, and Jin Eunsae's defensive blocks turn aside even intensified barrages, demonstrating that the Setting does not overcome a wide difference in technique or rank. Skins, collection effects, and manifestation

Beris owns more new Skins than any other Metaverse passenger and claims that accumulated collection effects improve combat power and ranking points. The god rapidly changes Skins when one is damaged, gaining their defense, weapons, appearance, and embedded Settings. Those benefits are inconsistent: the 「Demon King of Salvation Kim Dokja」 Skin has very low durability, its 「Growing Stronger Through Death」 Setting does not provide resurrection, and its unexplained 「Salvation」 effect does not stop Jaehwan. Beris also casts the shadow of a large Sanctuary, but the chapters do not show its full manifestation or mechanics. Finally, destroying the Doll ends Beris's local participation without killing the remote god, making the manifested body a critical point of failure. (Chapters 120 and 122–126)

Relationships

Jaehwan: Beris treats Jaehwan's growing popularity as competition and his pursuit by Mogi as monetizable content. Jaehwan repeatedly pierces Beris's prestigious Skins and exposes the weakness behind their rarity.
Runald: Beris mocks Runald, attempts to kill him for the broadcast, and belittles his god. Runald answers with a Light Stab that wounds Beris despite the enormous difference in World Power.
Jin Eunsae: Beris tries to exploit the audience's hostility toward 「Rift」 when Jin Eunsae arrives, but cannot break their defenses and is battered into the crater wall.
Jihan: The two serve in Mogi's advance force, with Beris relying on Jihan's Time Cube to neutralize the strongest opponents. Jihan ultimately destroys Beris's Doll when the broadcaster interferes with a personal attempt to take Andersen.

Skins: Beris's collection includes 「Pro Gamer Yu Junghyeok」, 「Demon King of Salvation Kim Dokja」, and 「Delusional Demon Kim Namwoon」. They are equipable Metaverse bodies or overlays with distinct defenses, weapons, and Settings rather than reliable guarantees of victory.
