Su Ran

Su Ran is Geneva Military Academy's vice-captain and Su Yang's older half-brother. A polished public manner conceals a bitter succession rivalry rooted in their mothers' status, making their Circuit-final duel a contest for family legitimacy as much as an academy point.

Biography

The brother he needed to humiliate

Su Ran establishes himself as a precise Grandmaster spear fighter and star representative of Geneva, while his presence is the reason Su Yang chooses Rodova rather than serving beneath him. Before the final, Su Ran tells his teammates that defeating his younger half-brother before watching Su Clan elders will prove that superior talent matters more than his mother's common birth. That need for recognition makes him confident and personally invested beyond the team's tactical requirements. (Chapters 162–168 and 192–203)

During their duel, Su Ran presents courtesy for the audience, wounds Su Yang severely, and expects pain and blood loss to force a collapse. When Su Yang continues, Su Ran panics, repeats direct spear pressure, and uses Venom Bloom, but his technique becomes less composed. Su Yang disarms and pins him, forcing a yield; Su Ran survives, but the result reverses the public proof he sought, and no later recovery or family role is supplied. (Chapters 203–205)

Appearance and personality

Su Ran carries a silver spear and projects calm confidence, noble grace, and smooth courtesy in public. Around Su Yang, that polish gives way to condescension, class resentment, and panic when his expected victory stops unfolding.
