Jasmine

Jasmine is the farrier who leaves the Capital with Wistover's founding household. She maintains the estate's animals, tack, shoes, fences, and stable work while developing a quiet relationship with Colonel Wilkes.

Biography

Building Wistover's stables

Jasmine joins the hurried departure as one of the few experienced household workers the Royal Guard can secure. Finding no horses at the neglected manor, she redirects her labour to goats, fencing, hay cutting, and barn repairs, then later evaluates the shoes of visiting warhorses and prepares facilities for tournament stock. The goats repeatedly interfere with her work and Millie's accelerated hay growth fills storage faster than she can clear it, but Jasmine adapts rather than abandoning the stable. Her persistence turns an empty barn into a functioning animal operation able to support livestock, riders, and Royal events. (Chapters 213–230, 294–323, and 591)

A settled place in the household

Jasmine's work keeps her close to Wilkes, from helping fasten his armour to hiring specialists for repairs outside her own specialty. Their early affair becomes a quiet courtship that the household later regards as notably civil. That continuity marks her latest status: she is no longer merely an emergency recruit from a Capital forge, but a trusted Wistover craftswoman with an established working and personal place in the manor community. (Chapters 213, 591, and 783)

Appearance and personality

The corpus gives no stable physical description of Jasmine. She laughs readily, jokes with Dominic, and openly complains about the goats that treat her like one of their young. Her humour does not prevent professional boundaries: when a request falls outside ordinary tack and shoeing, she arranges qualified Techno Wizards and insists that she has work to finish. (Chapters 229, 294–323, 338, and 591)

Magic, skills, and craft

Jasmine is a farrier skilled in horse shoes, tack, stable upkeep, animal care, fencing, and farm machinery. She can judge whether shoes need replacement, helps armour a rider, and organizes specialist refurbishment when a task exceeds her trade. The corpus does not establish personal magic for her; Millie's rapid hay growth and Techno Wizard repairs are collaborators' abilities, not Jasmine's. (Chapters 223–230, 313, 323, and 591)

Relationships

  • Colonel Wilkes: Their early intimacy develops into a quiet courtship, while their work overlaps around armour, stables, and warhorses. (Chapters 213, 591, and 783)
  • Dominic Wavemates: Dominic relies on Jasmine for the manor's animals and stable work, jokes with her, and checks on practical problems around the barn. (Chapters 223–230, 294–323, and 591)
  • Millie: Millie's magically fast hay growth supports the animals but creates a storage problem for Jasmine, whose cutting and baling cannot keep pace indefinitely. (Chapter 323)

Items

  • Farrier tools, tack, and horse shoes: These are the ordinary equipment of Jasmine's trade. The corpus identifies no individually named magical tool belonging to her. (Chapters 313 and 591)
