Ingrid

Ingrid is the only female Mountain Troll among the large clan that settles at Wistover Manor. Mother to the many guards called Dave and cooks called Larry, she provides the authority, care, and daily organization that turns the formidable newcomers into a stable household force.

Biography

Establishing and caring for the Troll clan

Ingrid arrives with the Mountain Trolls who settle beside Wistover Manor and bluntly claims every Dave and Larry as her brood, attributing their repeated names to her late husband and the first Larry. Once the clan becomes part of the estate, she assigns cleaning and nature-magic work, stands guard, repairs damaged furnishings, and keeps her sons occupied. Her authority gives Dominic Wavemates and Alexis a reliable point of coordination for dozens of powerful Trolls whose enthusiasm otherwise creates as much work as it solves. (Chapters 432 and 504–604)

That maternal role becomes critical after two Daves suffer major fire damage while protecting Dominic. Because Troll regeneration cannot properly restore burned flesh, Ingrid tends them while healers remove damaged tissue in stages, allowing the torso and vital organs to recover before more extensive regeneration. She then guards their room and manages the long convalescence rather than treating survival as the end of the problem. Her work cannot bypass the special limitation imposed by fire, but it keeps the injured Trolls fed, supervised, and in good spirits during a recovery expected to take up to a year. Appearance and personality

Ingrid is a female Mountain Troll and is seen smoking a cigar while guarding her injured sons. The corpus gives no finer stable physical description. Magic, skills, and craft

Ingrid understands Troll recovery and coordinates healers through the staged treatment required after fire damage. She also repairs a broken bed and directs Troll household work, including cleaning and plant growth. The corpus does not isolate the mechanics of a personal spell cast by Ingrid: the nature magic in her chore assignments is performed by the Daves, while her demonstrated strength is clan leadership, care, and practical repair.
