Park Dongchun

Park Dongchun is the head of Dongchun Merchants and a middle-ranked member of Eva's Royal Council. A wary merchant with a poor Status Window but exceptional survival instincts, he sells Carpe Diem its headquarters and later chooses limited cooperation over joining the alliance that tries to destroy it.

Biography

Selling the haunted property and choosing survival

Park shows Seol Jihu and Kim Hannah a supposedly haunted property because years of unexplained deaths have made it commercially useless. He seizes the chance to sell once they remain interested, balancing greed with honest disclosure of the building's reputation. The sale gives Carpe Diem the land needed to establish itself and leaves Park defending the decision before Eva's hostile Royal Council. (Chapters 118–119 and 125)

When Omar Garcia sends Park to probe Carpe Diem, Park warns Kim that the royal partner organization has manipulated earlier crises. Kim advises him to stay out of the coming confrontation, and he follows that warning rather than joining the attack. His caution preserves Dongchun Merchants while the old alliance collapses. He later cooperates with Eva's administrator on supplies for the Federation settlement, shifting his merchant network toward reconstruction after the political balance changes. Appearance and personality

Park is an older Korean man who uses exaggerated humility, hand rubbing, sighs, and repeated “aigoo” exclamations in negotiation. He is greedy, socially nimble, and willing to present himself as harmless, but accurately reads danger and knows when profit is less important than survival. His climb to Valhalla's upper cafeteria leaves him visibly winded. (Chapters 118–119, 125, 128, and 130)

Abilities and class

The corpus calls Park's Status Window poor and does not identify his class, level, weapon, or combat ability. His demonstrated strengths are bargaining, real-estate knowledge, political intelligence, reading a room, and organizational logistics. He survives Paradise through wits and restraint rather than personal fighting power. (Chapters 118–119, 125–130, and 136)

Relationships

• Kim Hannah: Kim outmaneuvers Park in the property purchase but later exchanges warnings with him. Her advice to remain neutral helps him survive the fall of Eva's old alliance. (Chapters 118–119 and 128)
• Seol Jihu: Park sells Seol the future Valhalla headquarters and avoids joining those who attack him. Their relationship remains transactional but ultimately contributes to Eva's reform. (Chapters 118–125 and 128–130)
