Alliances and the Road to Nevermore

Vesperia originated as a Pollendust Bee Queen egg from Yalsten, but Jake's multi-stage ritual fed it an Origin Core tied to the Hundred True Royals and changed its evolutionary direction. She hatched at level 200 as a C-grade Vespernat Hive Queen, the restored True Royal of a wasp lineage believed extinct since the first era. Born with inherited Lineage Knowledge rather than personal memories of an earlier life, she immediately recognized Jake as her sire, chose the ancestral name Vesperia for herself, and began deciding what her unprecedented position meant. Jake initially stressed her freedom so strongly that Vesperia heard rejection rather than care: he called her birth accidental, denied needing her, and encouraged her to leave for the Endless Empire. She explained that her creator occupied a parental place in her nature and that she wanted closeness without surrendering her independence. Once Jake understood the hurt he had caused, he called her one of his proudest accidents and began treating her as family. Vesperia then accepted training and resources from the Empire while declaring Jake part of “our hive”; at their farewell, his only requested repayment was that she live well and remain in contact. The Floor Climb and Challenge Dungeons

Reaching the Endless Empire's heartlands required divine escorts to protect Vesperia from an Automata ambush that killed thousands of enemy vessels and cost the Empire a Godqueen. Once safe, she accepted the allegiance of Vespernat gods and claimed the surviving heritage of her extinct line. Although some True Royals questioned whether Jake's involvement had divided her loyalty, Vesperia openly affirmed allegiance to both him and the Empire. She bound the Vespernat Royal Diadem and began integrating the old Hive Core in four hours, then continued absorbing it over the following months; her inherited resistance and rapid growth convinced her that her unusual creation was a boon rather than corruption. While Jake progressed through Nevermore, Vesperia cultivated a nascent hive, absorbed her heritage, and received updates from Minaga. The safety and resources of the heartlands could have supported her indefinitely, but she decided that remaining there was incompatible with her Path. She wanted independence, participation in her native universe, and a return to the other half of the hive she associated with Jake. Return from Nevermore and the Prima Guardian

Vesperia returned to Earth with Sandy after reaching level 284 through inherited resources rather than Nevermore. Separation had intensified her fear that Jake neither needed nor wanted her, especially after his influence grew while her birth continued causing political complications. With Sandy forcing the issue, Vesperia admitted that she felt like an unwanted burden. Jake answered that family did not have to provide a measurable benefit to deserve a place in his life. Reassured, she stayed near his lodge, shared her capabilities, advised his public conduct, and coordinated her drones with Miranda to contact Earth's native hives before the system event. During the Prima Guardian event, Vesperia simultaneously commanded a remote army that held an entire defensive section and entered personal combat beside Jake with four Queen's Guards. Her guards repeatedly sacrificed their temporary bodies to intercept attacks and restrain the Guardian, while Vesperia alternated between armored melee and railgun-like stinger fire. A mass Gaze froze her long enough for the Guardian to crush most of her skull, but Eron's healing let her resume ranged support before the battle ended. Hunting Grounds and B-grade Evolution

After Earth's victory, Vesperia pursued the expansion expected of her Path without becoming merely an agent of Jake or the Empire. With Sylphie and the Fallen King, she assisted planets where native hives were already defeating dwindling enlightened populations, killed their Prima Guardians, and established links to the Endless Empire. She later maintained a Vespernat foothold while refusing involvement in Jake's staged factional conflict unless she or her holdings were attacked. Her armies also supported Miranda against Ell’Hakan's remaining loyalists, allowing Vesperia to contribute military pressure while preserving the neutral diplomatic position she considered valuable. Vesperia's later progress alternated between the Empire and Nevermore's Hunting Grounds. By her latest direct account she stood four levels below peak C-grade and expected evolution rather than doubting it. Her goal was not only personal advancement: she proposed that the ordinarily isolationist Endless Empire support Jake's claim in the future struggle for the Exalted Prima instead of competing against him. Appearance and personality

Vesperia's default Hive Queen form resembles a very tall mature humanoid woman, approximately 2.3 meters in height, with yellowish skin, four transparent wings, two antennae, and black eyes with yellow irises. Her long golden hair remains visible in combat form. She later wears robes or dresses, including golden clothing in the Endless Empire and a striped black-and-yellow dress on Earth. Her central loyalty is expressed through the language of the hive. True Royal race and Lineage authority

Vesperia is a monster rather than an enlightened being with a separate class or profession. Jake's Origin Core changed her Pollendust egg into a Vespernat Hive Queen and restored a severed True Royal Path. She began at level 200 in C-grade with extensive Lineage Knowledge of her race, skills, history, and the multiverse, but she did not inherit an earlier personal existence. Her connection to Jake also gave her exceptional resistance to passive divine presence. Directed divine intent can still overwhelm that resistance, as the Malefic Viper demonstrated; unlike Jake, she initially lacked a personal presence capable of actively contesting his. True Royalty is conceptual hierarchy rather than a ceremonial title. Drones obey commanders, commanders obey Queens, and ordinary or Quasi-Royal wasp and bee Queens instinctively recognize Vesperia as superior, even when they vastly exceed her level. Internal Hive, Hive Energy, and spawning

Vesperia's principal resource is Hive Energy, which exists alongside health, mana, and stamina. Creating and maintaining stronger spawns reserves more of this finite capacity; committed points return when the spawn disappears rather than replenishing like mana. Ordinary drones and guards have limited intelligence, cannot gain levels independently, and possess imitated souls rather than Truesouls, making their deaths a loss of invested energy and time rather than the death of one of Vesperia's true children. This system lets her field thousands of C-grade units early and potentially store millions as her capacity and internal space expand. (Chapters 621, 733, and 921–923)

The Internal Hive stores eggs, drones, and resources in a physical subspace in the void adjacent to the True Royals' hidden ancestral world. Vesperia enters it through a portal and can deploy constructs through the same opening. True-souled outsiders are rejected, and collapsing the portal can trap her until she reopens it or receives help. More seriously, remaining inside after collapse removes part of the system's concealment and can expose the Hive's location to enemies in the void, a weakness the Automata have used to kill True Royals. Vesperia can produce routine spawns and true Hive Queen offspring. She created two young Queens without fertilization, including a Vespula Hive Queen placed inside Sandy to cultivate resources. A mate may contribute Records and improve offspring, but an inferior partner can dilute them, so reproduction is neither mandatory nor automatically beneficial. Subordinate Queens can reserve their own Hive Energy to help hatch Vesperia's eggs, reducing her personal cost; this can lead them toward support or warrior specializations. Vespernat Metamorphosis and natural weapons

Vespernat Metamorphosis shifts Vesperia between two natural bodies rather than temporarily boosting her. A pupa-shaped light protects and conceals the change, after which yellow-and-black chitin covers her body without obvious openings. Her right arm becomes a lance-like stinger, her left gains claws and a shield growth, her legs become bladed spears, and her enlarged wings retain high speed despite the armor. She can sustain either form indefinitely. The combat body cannot use conventional weapons or armor, but its exoskeleton, natural shield, multiple striking surfaces, and near-omnidirectional vision make the whole form a coordinated weapon. The main stinger supports melee thrusts, penetrating shockwaves, and hidden needle projectiles. Its ranged configurations include rapid fire, a spread comparable to a shotgun, a concentrated railgun-like shot, and a tethered harpoon. The needles carry a potent neurotoxin that Vesperia can delay and activate at tactically useful moments, slowing a target that believes the venom has already been neutralized. Early in C-grade, a life-affinity boosting skill let her pressure Jake until he activated Arcane Awakening, but his poison resistance and ability to destroy the toxin made him an unusually poor matchup. Pollen released from Vesperia's wings establishes an interference field that hampers non-life magic, including ordinary divination and temporal effects. It did little against Jake because his instinctive reactions were not precognition and his arcane concepts resisted the suppression. The field's full scale and exact cost remain undisclosed. Her most effective combat therefore combines personal transformation with guards and prepared formations: the Queen's Guards pin targets, intercept attacks, and create openings, while Vesperia selects melee or ranged stinger modes. • Jake Thayne — Jake's ritual created Vesperia's current race and identity, causing her to regard him as sire, a parental figure, and the other highest member of their shared hive. His early insistence that she owed him nothing felt like rejection; their reconciliation, continuing contact, reunion on Earth, and strategic cooperation turn that accidental creation into a sustained familial bond. Vesperia remains independent, but she trusts him fully and measures her growth partly by her ability to contribute to his life.
• Sandy — Sandy adopts Vesperia as a younger sister, gives her the nickname Vespy, transports her back to Earth, and houses one of her Hive Queens for cultivation. Sandy's blunt disclosure of Vesperia's insecurity forces the conversation that lets Jake affirm their family, making the worm both collaborator and emotionally perceptive confidante.
• Sylphie — Vesperia understands Sylphie as another being changed by Jake and accepts the resulting sibling-like connection. They fight and travel together after the Prima Guardian event, with Sylphie's speed complementing Vesperia's armies and command.
