Great White Stag
Biography
Lord of the Lucenti Plains
The Great White Stag ruled the Lucenti Plains from a central pond, attended by three White Does. When Jake Thayne entered its dungeon, the stag used the surrounding plains and pools as a prepared lunar ritual rather than relying only on direct combat. Jake corrupted that formation through poison and Touch of the Malefic Viper, turning the stag's larger mana reserve against a purification contest it could not win. Even after its fur grayed, an antler broke, and one eye was lost, it charged again; the remnants of its herd then spent themselves to empower one last beam before Jake evaded it and the stag died in the poisoned water. (Chapters 76–82)
Its death left Jake with a Corrupted Mooncore Shard whose stored power later helped him oppose the King of the Forest. The reward carried the corrupted residue of their ritual contest forward, extending the stag's effect beyond its own dungeon and into the Tutorial's final conflict. (Chapters 83, 109–112)
Appearance and personality
The stag initially has a pure-white coat, ivory-colored antlers, and a majestic bearing. Its damaged final form is gray-furred, one-eyed, and missing part of an antler. It fights with patience and evident intelligence, carefully using its prepared terrain, but remains fiercely defiant after its ritual collapses.
Path, class, and abilities
As a high-level Tutorial Beast Lord, the Great White Stag commands lunar and light magic, barriers, healing, focused beams, and the White Does supporting its ritual. The prepared formation lets it draw on the plains and contest control through its superior mana supply. That advantage has a specific weakness: corrupting the formation is easier than cleansing it, and losing its ponds, herd, and stored power reduces it to increasingly desperate attacks. Its final beam also consumes the last strength of its herd and does not prevent Jake from evading it with Moment of the Primal Hunter.
Relationships
- Jake Thayne: The intruding hunter who corrupted the stag's ritual, survived its final attack, and killed it.
- White Does: Its attendants and ritual partners, whose remaining power supports its last beam.
- King of the Forest: The Tutorial ruler who had constrained the Beast Lords; power left by the stag later contributes to the King's defeat.
Items
No separately cataloged notable item is finalized for the Great White Stag; the rewards left after its death belong to the dungeon-clear sequence rather than a retained personal inventory.
