Koprik

Koprik is a huge black-panther guardian of the northern Ashurada tribe. Once defeated by Great Ashurada, Koprik stands outside ordinary Rakshasa hierarchy until the creation Gordius kills the guardian and uses the body as a disguise.

Biography

Guardian made into a disguise

Koprik sleeps within Siol’s large temple and outranks governor Akulda despite formally serving Great Ashurada. When rebellion threatens the north, Akulda prepares Pangolin offerings to wake and placate the guardian, relying on Koprik’s appetite and force to restore control. The plan has already failed: Gordius enters the temple, eats away Koprik’s brain, and spends time learning to operate the unfamiliar four-legged body. Rakshasas then approach what they believe is their protector, only for the possessed body to attack them and shield Vasen’s coalition. Koprik’s corpse remains useful as a divine disguise during the later Ashurada battle, but every action after the possession belongs to Gordius, not to Koprik. (Chapters 154–171)

Appearance and personality

Koprik is a gigantic black panther with eyes, jaws, four legs, claws, and a tail. The original guardian treats Pangolins as food and is inferred to regard Rakshasa priests as potential living snacks, but much later behavior occurs only after death. (Chapters 154–170)

The evidence presents the living Koprik as predatory, sleepy, and dangerous to subordinates. Gordius’s calculated deception must not be read as a change in Koprik’s loyalties or personality. (Chapters 154–157)

Powers and abilities

Koprik has guardian-level strength, speed, claws, and a body capable of throwing Rakshasas tens of meters. Gordius can use that body to fight, leap across temple steps, and support a Dragon confrontation. The corpus does not show Koprik’s own activated skill, and possession succeeds by attacking the brain before the guardian can crush the intruder. (Chapters 156–171)
