Bion

Bion is a long-serving creation of Choi Sung-Woon who manages the Pantheon’s practical affairs. Although Bion is commonly called Night Sky’s messenger, the role is closer to butler and secretary: Bion coordinates visitors, ceremonies, meetings, and access to a god who prefers not to keep a formal personal attendant.

Biography

The Pantheon’s intermediary

Bion interrupts Sairan and Hwee-Kyung’s reunion because the Pantheon has summoned their group, transports them into the Prairie of Beginnings, and explains the procedures that allow living people to approach the gods. Bion then oversees the couple’s wedding, turning a difficult divine reckoning into an organized celebration. Much later, Redmars asks Bion for help reaching the busy Night Sky; Bion cannot command the god, but offers advance notice when summoned and helps translate Redmars’s complicated plan for Hwee-Kyung. This quiet mediation supports the moon-facing program and establishes Bion as the person who keeps divine administration understandable to less powerful participants. (Chapters 197–275)

Appearance and personality

Bion wears a hooded black robe and speaks in a restrained, sometimes whisper-like manner. In the Hall of Myriad Stars, Bion later wears the lion mask formerly associated with Jang-Wan. No body, species, or face beneath the robe is described. (Chapters 273–332)

Bion is discreet, practical, and cautious about hierarchy. They avoid unnecessary explanation, anticipate when others will struggle to communicate, and worry about Night Sky’s reaction even while supporting a reasonable plan. (Chapters 198–275)

Powers and abilities

Bion can transport a summoned group between the mortal world and the Prairie by stomping a foot, but the corpus frames this as Pantheon messenger authority rather than unrestricted teleportation. They know access procedures, afterlife geography, and divine schedules. No combat power, numerical limit, or independent Domain is stated. (Chapters 197–200)
