Lu Yuanlu

Lu Yuanlu is a Qi cultivator of the Lu Family and a descendant of Lu Sisi. His pride in his authentic spiritual qi exceeds his judgment of the political crisis around him; after Sisi dies, Yuanlu attempts to defend Mount Huaqian and is killed by Li Tongya. (Chapters 118, 139, 151–152)

Biography

An heir unprepared for the loss of his elder

Yuanlu appears beside his family’s elder, Lu Sisi, boasting of his true essence and comparing himself favorably with his older brother Pingyuan. His cultivated mana comes from proper Minor Pure Spiritual Qi, which gives him a real advantage over cultivators who rely on unrefined qi, but his display chiefly humiliates Sisi. The elder sends him away before discussing family business with Tongya. Later, Sisi finds Yuanlu drunk, celebrating with two women and kicking a servant. He restrains his anger because he fears that humiliating the impulsive heir may produce retaliation after his death, leaving the clan with no capable protection. (Chapters 118–119, 139)

After Sisi’s death, Yuanlu learns of the news while feasting and immediately confronts the Li force attacking the family’s mountain. He believes marriage ties should protect the Lu household and challenges Tongya’s claim that the family can no longer defend its territory. Despite genuine sword skill and the advantage of an authentic technique, Yuanlu cannot match Tongya’s swordsmanship. Tongya disarms him after dozens of exchanges and decapitates him. His death is followed by the surrender of the Lu family; Tongya discovers that Yuanlu had begun using the family’s Cave Spring Clear Spirit Technique, which requires rare Cave Spring Clear Qi. (Chapters 151–152)

Appearance and personality

Yuanlu wears flashy gold clothing and carries himself with early-adult arrogance. At a banquet he drinks, celebrates and mistreats a servant; faced with invasion, he shows enough courage to fight but misjudges the disparity between himself and Tongya. (Chapters 118, 139, 151)

Abilities and cultivation

Yuanlu is a Qi cultivator who uses an authentic method fueled by Minor Pure Spiritual Qi, an advantage over those with unrefined qi. By the time the Li Family takes Mount Huaqian, he has begun the Cave Spring Clear Spirit Technique, which cultivates Cave Spring Clear Qi and supplies sustained vitality to Qi cultivators. He wields a sword competently, but Tongya overmatches him in a brief duel. His cultivation and technique do not establish a named heavenly layer. (Chapters 118, 151–152)
