Spacetime Amber

Spacetime Amber is a naturally occurring Universal Treasure that creates nearly impenetrable amber-like seals by isolating enclosed targets from ordinary space, time, and energy.

History

Recovery from Planet Amber

Han Xiao finds the object on a planet whose native civilization treats it as a holy relic, though it arrived there from elsewhere rather than being made locally. Once he studies its properties, he develops it into a strategic sealing weapon. At Planet Lighthouse, the resulting amber prisons neutralize several Beyond Grade A enemies and even seal the Ten Thousand Deity Scepter, giving Han Xiao a form of confinement that conventional force struggles to undo. (Chapters 836–881)

A deterrent and prison

The sealed captives become both proof of the treasure's effectiveness and a warning to later enemies. Han Xiao stores multiple Beyond Grade As in individual displays and keeps EsGod confined because opening the amber would immediately restore the prisoner's opportunity to escape. The seal impedes ordinary examination of a captive, and long confinement can weaken or damage the soul even while the body remains preserved. (Chapters 915–1223)

Weapon against the World Tree

During the war with the World Tree Civilization, Han Xiao and his allies attempt to seal enemy experts instead of merely destroying disposable bodies. The World Tree adapts by ordering high-level combatants to self-destruct before the amber can close, yet several are still captured. Hila carries prepared amber during the conflict, while Han Xiao retains authority over important prisoners through the war's aftermath. (Chapters 1341–1442)

Abilities and properties

  • Produces an amber-like enclosure that isolates its contents from energy and fixes their spatial and temporal coordinates. (Chapters 836, 875)
  • Makes sealed material appear nonexistent to many instruments; specialized spatial research can detect the distorted coordinates. (Chapter 875)
  • Forms a prison durable enough to hold Beyond Grade As and resist ordinary attempts at damage or release. (Chapters 915, 1086)
  • Requires time and physical application to form a complete seal, giving alert targets an opportunity to evade or self-destruct. (Chapter 1341)
  • Preserves a captive's body while preventing normal interaction and examination; prolonged confinement can harm the soul. (Chapters 1040, 1223)
