Amphiptere

Amphiptere is the later name of Han Xiao's Viper mechanical-suit blueprint lineage, which develops from his first advanced personal armor into a modular galactic combat platform.

History

Viper prototype

Han Xiao creates the original black Viper suit as a lightweight, suitcase-portable supplement to his ranged weapons. Its armor, biological muscle, sensors, and open module capacity let him fight stronger close-range opponents without giving up his firearms. He repeatedly modifies the suit, adding sonic projectiles, heavy attachments, and a Ranged Form assembled from captured weapons. During the escape from Germinal headquarters, he temporarily entrusts Viper to Hila so that its armor can keep her alive under concentrated attack. (Chapters 174–256)

The original shell reaches its limit in Han Xiao's battle with the Germinal leader. After repeated damage and emergency repair, its components finally break apart. Han Xiao does not restore that physical shell; he decides to build a more capable successor from Viper's underlying design. (Chapters 262–270)

Renamed successor

The new suit preserves Viper's inner biological-muscle concept and weapon modules but uses stronger materials, a larger frame, and improved energy systems. The interface describes the result as an enhancement of the Viper blueprint and offers Han Xiao a new name, which he chooses as Amphiptere. This establishes one evolving blueprint lineage, not uninterrupted continuity of the destroyed Viper shell. The finished Amphiptere is locked to Han Xiao's nerve signals and is strong enough for him to take into the galaxy. (Chapters 270–271)

Amphiptere becomes Han Xiao's general-purpose armor during his early mercenary career. He adds a flight attachment and a heavy Siege Mode exoskeleton, carries spare shells, and repairs or replaces damaged copies between operations. Its versatility allows it to protect him during the Sunil Catastrophe, boarding actions, and battles against other Supers, although concentrated dust infiltration and hostile hacking expose weaknesses in its internal systems. Loaned and expendable shells

Because Han Xiao can maintain multiple copies, Amphiptere also serves as loaned or remotely controlled armor. Herlous wears one temporarily, Phillip pilots an empty shell through its control system, and another suit encloses Sylvia to shield her from a cyclone. By the time Han Xiao faces stronger galactic opponents, Amphiptere is no longer his best armor; he treats spare copies as replaceable equipment and continues fighting after individual shells are reduced to scrap. Abilities and properties

• Viper's original configuration combines powered biological muscle, platinum-alloy plates, bullet-resistant membrane, life-sign radar, and stealth systems in a suitcase-portable suit. (Chapters 174–175)
• Its modular construction accepts heavy arms, firearms, grenade launchers, sonic projectiles, flight equipment, and other attachments without preventing Han Xiao from using separate weapons. (Chapters 174, 209, and 252)
• Amphiptere retains nerve-linked control and adds Flight Mode and a heavily armored Siege Mode for different mobility and assault requirements. (Chapters 271, 305, and 358–362)
• A compressed Amphiptere can expand from an orb into a full suit in seconds and can operate without a wearer under Phillip's control. (Chapters 407 and 476–477)
• Its gaps, electronics, and comparatively limited durability leave it vulnerable to infiltration, hacking, and opponents above its intended combat level. (Chapters 388 and 574)
