Maple Moon
Maple Moon is the player ID of a story-focused casual player who becomes a leading Mechanic and a core professional for Rivervale. Han Xiao's early training accelerates her development beyond the prior timeline he remembers, but her curiosity about lore, preference for crafting, and loyalty to the Black Star faction remain consistent.
Biography
Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War
Maple Moon first approaches Black Phantom for Mechanic knowledge and asks about his conflict with Germinal, triggering a hidden invitation through her interest in the story rather than profit alone. Han Xiao recognizes her from the prior timeline as a casual player who only became a professional standout in the third season, then begins cultivating her much earlier in the current timeline. She joins Stardragon, focuses on gathering, crafting, sales, and repairs, and reaches the level leaderboards despite limited playtime. Although Han Xiao treats her as one of four apprentices, she remains a spectator during the first Pro League because competition is not yet her priority. (Chapters 128–133, 149–231, and 268–294)
The Black Star Mercenary Group
Maple Moon follows Han Xiao into space and joins the Black Star Mercenary Group, repeatedly probing mission details that other players overlook. Her technical and supportive interests broaden: she studies galactic materials, buys blueprints, acquires a Pharmacist subclass, and acts as a field medic when needed. She also participates in combat and investigations, including the DarkStar crisis, while retaining a reserved, casual manner when Version 1.0 ends. These experiences and Han Xiao's resources build the foundation that will move her into professional competition earlier than the history he remembers. (Chapters 315–441)
The Flickering World
In the current timeline, Maple Moon enters the second Pro League ahead of her prior-timeline schedule, using a self-built imitation of the Void Dragon mechanical suit to reach the Singles roster and attract attention. By the third season, Rivervale has signed her, and Frenzied Sword calls her an irreplaceable core member after her contributions to the team's international run. She continues combining professional play with plot analysis, questioning captives and interpreting faction events during the Flickering World. Later direct appearances show her remaining with Rivervale, helping win a championship, rejecting attempts to poach the guild from the Black Star Army, analyzing the World Tree version, and logging off with other players in Chapter 1456. These current-timeline events supersede, rather than duplicate, Han Xiao's recollection of her original career path. (Chapters 646–647, 903–920, 1009–1022, 1209, 1277, 1420, and 1456)
Appearance and personality
Maple Moon's avatar is a petite young woman with delicate short hair, watery eyes, and a round, apple-like face. She is curious, gentle, reserved, and emotionally invested in storylines, often choosing according to sympathy rather than maximum reward. Combat and esports are initially secondary to collecting, crafting, caring for creatures, and discovering hidden plots. As a professional she remains thoughtful and analytical, retains a casual streak, and expresses disgust or fear openly rather than adopting a hardened competitive persona. (Chapters 128–130, 198, 222–231, 294, 825, 1277, and 1456)
Abilities and class
Maple Moon is a Mechanic focused on construction, equipment support, and careful resource use. Han Xiao teaches her basic Mechanic knowledge and Sniper proficiency, and she uses aim assistance effectively in early combat. She later builds machinery for sale, learns a Pharmacist subclass, treats wounded allies, constructs her own lower-grade Void Dragon suit, and reaches Grade B before the Flickering World's deep-ocean mission. Her strength lies in preparation, blueprints, and team utility; professional training eventually turns that support-oriented build into an important competitive asset. (Chapters 128–132, 193–231, 294, 402, 410, 618, 646, and 825–832)
Relationships
- Han Xiao: Han Xiao identifies Maple Moon's future potential and gives her early training, missions, equipment access, and opportunities. She becomes one of his four player apprentices and remains strongly loyal to the Black Star Army across later versions.
- Frenzied Sword: Frenzied Sword becomes Maple Moon's captain and teammate in Rivervale. He credits her as irreplaceable to the team's rise, while she pushes back humorously against his increasingly relentless practice schedule.
- Hao Tian: Hao Tian is one of the other early players cultivated beside Maple Moon. They frequently train or operate in the same circle, though her first enthusiastic approach is directed at the bear cub he is holding rather than at him.
- Bun-Hit-Dog: Bun-Hit-Dog shares Han Xiao's early favored group and later travels with Rivervale. Maple Moon's plot questions and analysis often complement his interest in recording stories and player culture.
Items
Maple Moon uses numerous crafted machines rather than one permanent named artifact. Notable equipment includes Han Xiao's loaned sniper rifle, measuring and repair tools, a self-built lower-grade Void Dragon mechanical suit, and later Black Star Army technology. These items mark stages of her development but are not consistently established as unique lifelong possessions.
