Kerlodd is a pure-blood Godoran investigator sent to Planet Aquamarine to study the appearance of Inhumans. His pride and superior equipment do not prevent Han Xiao from defeating and robbing him, but the two reach a grudging accommodation. Kerlodd later helps Han leave the planet, survives a galactic raid alongside him, and returns to his investigation work.

Biography

Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War

Captain Kerlodd travels alone aboard a Godoran Observer ship as space investigator 741, assigned to investigate Planet Aquamarine's Inhumans. His ship crashes after arrival, and he approaches Han with the confidence of a pure-blood Godoran who regards the planet's inhabitants as backward natives. Han deceives and attacks him, overcomes his Class C strength, takes his communicator and combat equipment, and keeps him restrained. Kerlodd's official identity remains that of one particular Godoran investigator; “alien” describes how Aquamarine's residents perceive him, not his species or personal name. After Han releases him from the chains and provides clothes, the humiliated investigator remains under Han's control rather than completing his mission independently. (Chapters 304–309)

The Black Star Mercenary Group

Kerlodd accompanies Han into meetings with Bennett, supplies useful knowledge about Inhumans and galactic affairs, and ultimately becomes Han's route off Planet Aquamarine. During the Short Horn Star attack, he recovers most of his golden spheres and uses their weapon forms to help repel scavengers. At Juberly Hub, Han releases him as promised; Kerlodd agrees not to cause trouble in his report and to mention Han's warning about Aquamarine's predicted disaster, then returns to work. Chapter 461 only shows Han using Kerlodd's Observer ID and does not place Kerlodd at the scene. The last update comes through Kerlodd's former classmate Nereja: Kerlodd contacted him a few days earlier to complain about that ID use and demand repayment, confirming that he was alive and active then without establishing anything about his later fate. Appearance and personality

Kerlodd is a male, pure-blood Godoran with light-golden skin, white hair divided into seven braids, and a golden sphere fixed to the end of each braid. He is about two meters tall, an ordinary height for a Godoran. Proud, impatient, and initially prejudiced against mixed-blood Godorans and planetary natives, he is also professionally informed and capable of honoring a negotiated release without escalating the conflict in his report. Abilities and class

Kerlodd is a Level 63 Class C Mechanical Pugilist and a standard trained Godoran warrior. He has limited personal construction ability but uses advanced Godoran equipment effectively. His compressed golden spheres can expand and combine into shields, spears, firearms, axes, and swords, allowing him to shift between defense, ranged attacks, and close combat. His investigator training also gives him expertise on Inhumans and access to Godoran observation systems. (Chapters 304–306, 308, 312, and 323–325)

Relationships

  • Han Xiao: Han defeats, captures, and strips Kerlodd of equipment, but later returns most of the spheres, takes him into the galaxy, and releases him at Juberly Hub. Their cooperation remains grudging, and Kerlodd later demands repayment after Han uses his Observer ID. (Chapters 304–330, 461, and 468)
  • Bennett: Kerlodd's presence at Bennett's meeting provides Bennett with his first direct encounter with an extraterrestrial person. Kerlodd reacts irritably to Bennett's staring. (Chapter 310)
  • Nereja: Kerlodd's former Observer Training Class classmate relays Kerlodd's complaint to Han, providing the last evidence that Kerlodd remains alive and at work. (Chapter 468)

Items

Kerlodd operates a one-person Godoran Observer ship and originally carries an Observer suit, a shield, a golden bracelet, nano-healant, and multifunctional compressed golden spheres. Han takes much of this equipment and later returns the smaller spheres, so the original loadout should not be treated as a fully retained personal inventory. None is a linked named item in the supplied inventory. (Chapters 304–308, 323, and 329–330)
