Kant

Kant, known as the Illusory Deity, is a peak Beyond Grade A Mechanic, a Phantom, and one of the Crimson Dynasty's three National Pillars. His evolved racial talent lets him imitate virtually any biological form, while his political role places him between service to the dynasty and cooperation with Han Xiao's broader Beyond Grade A institutions.

Biography

The Flickering World

Kant is first named when Manison guesses which dynasty reinforcement Han Xiao might request; he later arrives personally through a Virtual Soul, prompting Manison to end the confrontation. Acting under dynasty orders, Kant consoles Han Xiao, explains the Machinery Faith dispute, and cautions him that the dynasty will not settle a nonlethal rivalry between Mechanics. Kant admits that Manison defeated and targeted him in the past, giving his advice personal weight. At the Meeting of the Gods, he supports closer communication among Beyond Grade As but initially resists prematurely turning that contact into a formal alliance. (Chapters 959, 961–963, and 1008)

Intelligent Plague and the Association

Kant mobilizes dynasty allies to assist Hila against the Arcane Church and treats the rescue seriously despite joking about his own ability to fight everyone alone. He later agrees to help form the Development Union while warning Han Xiao that Manison is pursuing leverage and profit. During the Intelligent Plague, Kant joins the universe's leading Mechanics in tracing and containing the virus core. Although he is not a Virtual Mechanic, he contributes a Virtual Soul to the operation and opposes Manison's plan to retain the core, arguing that possession would invite catastrophe rather than secure the Supers. The World Tree War

When the World Tree threat becomes public among the Beyond Grade As, Kant supports fighting not for the three Universal Civilizations as rulers but for the galactic homeland in which he has chosen to live. He remains with the combined forces through the withdrawal from the intercepting circle and the war's later campaigns. After victory and the establishment of the Supers Holy Land, Han Xiao appoints him to manage its Mechanic Department when Manison declines the role. Kant is still alive in his last direct scene, where he bids farewell to Kasuyi before the latter's long expedition beyond explored space. (Chapters 1330, 1363, 1446, and 1448)

Appearance and personality

No one is said to have seen Kant's true form. He changes species and shape for amusement, and his first direct appearance is as a snow-white, tapering cylinder with a green leaf and three eyes—a form he matter-of-factly identifies as a daikon. Kant is experienced, sociable, and politically cautious, mixing blunt warnings with dry humor. He can be serious in a crisis but often punctures tension with jokes or playful transformations. Abilities and class

Kant is a peak Beyond Grade A Mechanic, though he explicitly is not a Virtual Mechanic specialist. As a member of the Phantom race, he possesses an evolved racial talent that can transform his body into any biological being with extraordinary realism, granting exceptional disguise and infiltration potential. He can deploy a Virtual Soul, participate in large-scale quantum-network operations, and command enough power that his arrival influences Manison's decision to disengage, even though Manison remains the superior virtual specialist. Relationships

• Han Xiao: Kant first serves as the dynasty's reinforcement and adviser after Han Xiao's clash with Manison. He later supports Han Xiao's association project with reservations, joins his anti-virus operation, fights for the explored universe, and accepts leadership of the Supers Holy Land's Mechanic Department.
• Manison: Manison previously defeated Kant in competition for Machinery Faith followers and remains the stronger Virtual Mechanic. Kant respects that danger but repeatedly challenges Manison's political proposals and opposes keeping the Intelligent Plague's virus core.
• Hila: Kant leads nearby dynasty allies toward Hila's rescue when the Arcane Church attacks her, treating the mission as urgent even while joking with his companions.
