Hannes

Hannes is a retired operative from Bennett's generation who returns to action while investigating the hidden cause of Planet Aquamarine's world war. His search becomes the hidden New Era—Origin storyline and ultimately exposes two Godoran individuals whose private interference helped push the planet into catastrophe.

Biography

Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War

Hannes reluctantly joins Garian and Vernina in an attempted kidnapping, providing surveillance and sniper support until Han Xiao's intervention forces a retreat. Recognizing Han Xiao's strength and refusing to pursue a personal grudge, he recruits him into an investigation of historical incidents that appear connected to Aquamarine's wars. Hannes distributes parts of the inquiry through missions and continues tracing the evidence, but later disappears so completely that neither Han Xiao nor the Dark Net can locate him. (Chapters 184, 187–192, 200–202, 215, 260, 265–268, 283, and 302)

The Black Star Mercenary Group

Hannes does not appear directly during this phase. Han Xiao recalls that Hannes and his companions vanished while investigating the ruins and briefly considers whether an unusual spatial crack could explain their disappearance. The thought is speculation rather than proof, and it neither establishes Hannes's death nor identifies his location; his mission remains active, leaving open the possibility that he survived somewhere beyond Han Xiao's reach. Mutation Disaster and the Secret War

Han Xiao unexpectedly finds Hannes alive among the prisoners escaping Bell of Death Island. Hannes explains that a Godoran's guardian killed his companions at a hidden site and that the Six Nations found him near death, saved him, and imprisoned him because of the dead alien beside him. Freed to stay in the Sanctuary, he resumes the investigation with Han Xiao and Bennett, identifies Angora, confronts Kedan's confession, and presents the truth to the Six Nations: personal meddling by the two Godorans, not a confirmed Godoran state policy, helped ignite the world war. Appearance and personality

Hannes is a bald white man around sixty years old who initially disguises himself as a beggar-like elder with a cap and sunglasses. He complains about being drawn out of retirement but remains loyal to old companions and relentless once a mystery grips him. He is cautious, observant, and not vindictive toward worthy opponents, though the deaths of his comrades and the truth behind the war provoke deep anger. Abilities and class

The corpus does not provide a formal class for Hannes. He is a level-sixty veteran operative with strong stealth, reconnaissance, forged-identity, medical, and marksmanship skills.
