Dekker

Dekker is an ordinary Tyrell Group manager assigned to accompany a resource shipment to Floating Dragon. Sylvia, the daughter of his friend, coerces him into assisting her attempted assassination of Han Xiao by threatening his family.

Biography

The Black Star Mercenary Group

Dekker supervises the workers loading Tyrell's shipment and brings Sylvia aboard under the explanation that he is temporarily caring for a friend's daughter. Han identifies the connection, and Dekker is found among the people Sylvia abandons in the poisoned ship. He says that threats against his family forced his cooperation and apologizes, but his involvement still damages his employer. After the crisis, Tyrell fires him despite acknowledging the coercion; the corpus gives no account of his life afterward. (Chapters 430–433 and 437)

Appearance and personality

Dekker is described only as an ordinary-looking man who does not attract attention. He acts deferentially toward Black Star and becomes frightened when Sylvia confronts the mercenaries. His concern for his threatened family is explicit, but the sparse scenes do not establish whether any loyalty to Sylvia also influenced his actions. (Chapters 430–433)
