Baltar

Baltar is a vice-manager and shooting trainer at the Germinal Organization base where Han Xiao awakens as the test subject Zero. His violence makes him one of the base's most dangerous personnel and an immediate obstacle to Han's escape.

Biography

Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War

Baltar introduces himself as Zero's shooting trainer and establishes his authority through intimidation and brutality. Han counts him among the four people in the base who could derail an escape, alongside Hila and Lin Wei Xian. Baltar does encounter him during the attempt and ruins the safer original plan, forcing Han into a far riskier all-or-nothing confrontation. Han kills him, and the base's subsequent report identifies Baltar among Zero's confirmed victims. (Chapters 3, 8, and 10)

Appearance and personality

Baltar is a frightening man with a hideous knife scar running across his forehead. He is frenzied and sadistic enough to lick blood from a black tactical knife, using violence as both instruction and intimidation. The supplied scenes establish cruelty and aggression clearly, but do not provide deeper motives or a life outside his role in the base. (Chapter 3)

Abilities and class

As the base's shooting trainer and a senior operational figure, Baltar is experienced with firearms and close combat. Han treats him as a serious threat during the escape, but the supplied evidence does not establish a formal Super class, grade, or named ability for him. (Chapters 3 and 8)

Relationships

  • Han Xiao: Baltar trains and threatens the test subject Zero, then intercepts his escape and is killed by him.
  • Hila: Both hold authority in the Germinal base and are counted by Han among the dangerous figures who could prevent his escape.
  • Lin Wei Xian: Baltar and Lin are fellow senior personnel at the base; both die during Han's escape.

Items
