A child becomes important to Kharon

Tim first enters conflict through school bullying, insisting that Lucy has damaged his clothes and food while his father tries to understand the danger. His connection to moss spirits later makes him the obvious candidate for a Skill important to Kharon’s floating islands, although Randidly hesitates because of Tim’s age and the burden such responsibility would create. By the tournament years, Tim remains direct and observant at home, correcting his father’s careless population estimate while watching events beyond his own power. (Chapters 1264, 1416, and 1849)
