Tatiana — The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound

Tatiana Rhubarb is the executive who turns Randidly Ghosthound's resources and abrupt ambitions into durable institutions. She first meets him while running a business in Zone 1, joins him in founding Erickson Steel, and becomes Kharon's practical head of government. Although she develops a combat Class, her defining strength is the judgment to govern while Randidly is absent and to challenge him when his habits endanger the people around him. Biography

A businesswoman in a violent new world

Tatiana meets Randidly while he is concealed as Baloo Erickson at a Zone 1 party. She is already a Tier 1 citizen, palm reader, and part-owner of a business that kept women housed and employed after the System's arrival. When Tooya attacks Kari, Tatiana crosses the pool in a step, uses her presence Skills to stop him, and deploys power gauntlets rather than leave one of her people undefended. Randidly's intervention prevents the confrontation from becoming a gunfight, beginning their trust under circumstances that expose both her protectiveness and his hidden power. (Chapters 517–520)

Her position becomes unstable as political pressure, refugees, and Randidly's concealed identity gather around the steelworking district. Tatiana chooses collaboration because Erickson Steel can give her people work and because Randidly's ambitions offer more than personal survival. His eventual admission that Baloo is a disguise damages their easy intimacy, but she answers with a deliberate handshake and a working partnership. Accepting him as Randidly is therefore neither blind forgiveness nor romantic surrender; it is her decision to build something useful despite a justified loss of trust. (Chapters 566–598)

Erickson Steel and earned authority

Tatiana refuses to remain only the public face of another person's company. She handles lawyers, accounts, staffing, property, and the daily decisions Randidly would rather avoid, while also replacing her cramped Cutpurse Class with Crooked Dagger and training to survive beyond city walls. During the Ogre Ridge expedition, her stronger companions deliberately create openings so she can take finishing blows and gain experience. The blood and physical strain reveal her limits, but she remains steady and rises from Level 43 to Level 46 during the assault. (Chapters 580–581 and 598–605)

When Randidly disappears for almost six months, Tatiana protects Erickson Steel from attempted acquisition and reinvests its profits into facilities and research rather than leave wealth idle for its absent founder. She teases him when he returns expecting liquid assets, yet immediately moves money and distribution contacts to meet his urgent need. That exchange fixes the terms of their mature partnership: Randidly can create extraordinary materials and opportunities, but Tatiana decides how an institution preserves them between crises. Her title of Head of Operations reflects authority she exercised before anyone formally acknowledged it. (Chapter 868)

Governing the Wandering City

Kharon's expansion makes Tatiana responsible for a population far more varied than Erickson Steel's workforce. She directs trade, zoning, construction, policing, agricultural land, and refugee integration while Randidly trains or travels. Her encounter with former partner Felicia clarifies how much she has changed: Tatiana can still recognize an old manipulation, but now speaks with the accumulated authority of someone trusted to make decisions for a moving city. She identifies most of her Skills as management-oriented and uses physical strength only to demonstrate that civic authority has not made her helpless. (Chapters 1118 and 1248–1259)

Fidelity to the Ghosthound sharpens this role by improving work undertaken for Randidly and giving her limited predictive insight into his intentions. Rather than becoming obedient, Tatiana uses that awareness to prepare staff, demand clear answers, and contain the disruption of his sudden projects. She turns Wolfram's war mages into scribes, coordinates a politically sensitive birthday gathering, and resists Eidolon Crucible's call when Kharon needs someone awake while Randidly is vulnerable. The Skill makes their unusual partnership more efficient, but her choices determine whether that efficiency protects a community rather than merely indulges him. (Chapters 1291 and 1339)

Expira's civic identity and communal grief

Tatiana's leadership scales beyond Kharon as Earth prepares for Calamities and contact with the Nexus. She tolerates Delilah's informal leadership among orphaned children because dispersing them would remove one of the few structures they trust, while continuing to watch the long-term risk. She also oversees governmental changes, floating-island construction, and public obligations, then speaks as Kharon's head of government after the world accepts the name Expira. These decisions turn a powerful founder's territory into a polity whose rules, schools, and succession of work can survive his departure. (Chapters 1396, 1449–1480, and 1502)

Helen's death tests a different part of Tatiana's stewardship. She helps assemble fighters and leaders from Tellus, Kharon, the Orders, and liberated communities for the funeral, receives Helen's mother, and presses Randidly to speak when grief makes him want to retreat into silence. The ceremony does not solve his guilt, but Tatiana gives many separate communities a shared place to mourn. Her competence therefore develops beyond logistics: she preserves relationships and public memory when no amount of combat strength can repair the loss. (Chapters 1609–1610)

Continuity inside the Alpha Cosmos

As Randidly's conflicts move farther into the Nexus, Tatiana continues running Kharon and becomes part of the Alpha Cosmos's wider leadership network. She mediates between formidable personalities, helps stage tournaments and markets, and uses her familiarity with Randidly to remind him that he does not need to be perfect to remain worthy of trust. During his recovery and training, that reassurance matters precisely because it comes from someone who understands the cost his absences transfer to others and still chooses to shoulder part of it. (Chapters 1813–1856 and 1906–1918)

Her later work retains the same human scale even as the setting grows cosmic. Tatiana helps Neveah and Lucretia guide Devick toward a Class, tempers their argument by identifying the point of disagreement, and remains a recognizable civic authority when newcomers enter Kharon's markets. She can arrange a dress, settle discretionary spending, or coordinate danger communications without treating those duties as beneath her. By the final crises, her achievement is continuity itself: the Alpha Cosmos contains a functioning society because she repeatedly makes extraordinary people answer ordinary needs. Appearance and personality

Tatiana is a beautiful, dark-haired woman with hazel eyes. Early in Zone 1 she wears gold earrings, styled curls that bounce when she moves, and a distinctive perfume; in Kharon's offices she favors professional clothes and reading glasses, which she keeps wearing for presentation even after no longer needing them. Her recurring visual setting is a desk or planning table surrounded by papers, maps, a clipboard, and assistants rather than a battlefield. (Chapters 518, 541, 1291, 1480, and 2203)

She is socially perceptive, pragmatic, protective, and playfully sharp. Tatiana can charm a room, but the charm coexists with a willingness to confront abusers, politicians, and Randidly himself. She values good presentation without mistaking it for substance, and she is candid about the pressures placed on women who are publicly visible. Her best decisions combine empathy with unsentimental judgment: she sees what people need, then accepts the paperwork and conflict required to provide it. Abilities and progression

Tatiana's abilities combine a stealth-oriented combat Class, management Skills, and a bond-derived Skillset centered on Randidly. She is far stronger than an ordinary administrator, but her development consistently favors leverage, preparation, and delegated action over direct contests with elite image practitioners.

Crooked Dagger and close combat

Tatiana begins with Cutpurse, a Class she considers too narrow for the help she wants to provide outside cities. Nathan restructures it into Crooked Dagger, granting Unpredictable Steps, Unassuming Strike, Rapid Slash, Deft Hands, Produce Dagger, Numbing Touch, Predict Dodge, Feign Death, Poison Brewing, Dual Dagger Dance, Watchful Eyes, and Vicious Execution. The build emphasizes deceptive movement, sudden finishing attacks, and precision rather than sustained frontal combat. Its first practical training requires allies to distract tougher enemies while she takes decisive blows. (Chapters 580–581 and 604–605)

Her earlier Sinister Presence, Intimidating Figure, and Ambitious Strength let her halt an assault before drawing her power gauntlets. Later Levels and training give her considerable physical strength, yet insufficient Physical Fitness initially drains her Stamina over long travel, and the Ogre Ridge's bloodshed leaves her visibly shaken. Crooked Dagger therefore gives her a credible personal defense and a way to exploit openings; it does not make her a peer of the front-line fighters who create those openings. Fidelity to the Ghosthound

Tatiana obtains Fidelity to the Ghosthound from a Path after Randidly's Judgment. The Skill directly improves her capabilities while she works on his projects and offers limited prediction of his needs, arrival, and emotional direction. It cannot reveal every detail or compel him to explain himself, so she treats its impressions as an early warning rather than certainty. In practice, it lets her clear schedules, gather staff, and ask the question he is trying to avoid before a new burden lands on Kharon. (Chapters 1291, 1387, 1411, and 1480)

The Skillset later develops enough for Tatiana to borrow lesser versions of some of Randidly's Skills. Energy-root applications require bare-foot contact with the ground, an interaction she finds deeply inconvenient, and borrowed strength remains weaker than Randidly's original techniques. More important than raw force is the bond's emotional use: it helps her recognize when he needs conversation, while her independent judgment supplies the answer that the Skill cannot. The connection improves coordination without erasing disagreement or the need for consent. (Chapters 1710, 1813, 1829, and 1854–1856)

Administration and organizational design

Tatiana's management capabilities turn information, specialists, money, and deadlines into coordinated action. She delegates to people such as Wolfram and Commissioner Arrietti, records and distributes decisions, negotiates trade and mining rights, plans public events, and integrates newly arrived populations into Kharon's existing services. The effects are cumulative rather than explosive: parks, agricultural districts, policing, markets, schools, and public ceremonies continue operating while their most powerful citizen is absent. These abilities require accurate information, capable delegates, and enough political trust for her decisions to hold. They cannot defeat a Calamity or repair a death, and Randidly's unpredictable arrivals repeatedly overload the systems she has built. Tatiana counters those limits through redundancy, clear boundaries, and an insistence that even he participate in planning. Her development from company operator to the head of Kharon's government and an Alpha Cosmos leader is an increase in scale, not a departure from the same practical mechanics. Randidly Ghosthound: Founder, friend, and recurring administrative burden. Tatiana protects his projects while challenging his secrecy, isolation, and habit of leaving consequences for others to manage.

Vye: Employee and trusted field operative whom Tatiana helps integrate after release from frozen time; Vye's later departure tests Tatiana's willingness to let capable people choose their own direction.

Tatiana deploys a pair of power gauntlets from her spatial watch during her first confrontation in Zone 1. They reinforce her willingness to fight for people under her care, although her later Crooked Dagger Class favors subtler weapons and movement. (Chapter 519)

None is singularly powerful, but together they express the method behind Kharon's survival: Tatiana repeatedly confirms details, records decisions, and keeps the right people informed.
