Richter
Richter is Zone 1’s finest Special Forces agent, a physically frail intelligence specialist who adapts unusually well to borrowed Nether. (Chapters 1314, 1399, and 1472)
Biography
The Black Rook carries borrowed Nether
Richter serves Theodora Greyman as an agent valued for perception and judgment rather than physical Stats. His ability to identify what others miss earns her trust, while his position as the Black Rook makes him central to a possible future in which she kills King Phirun and returns to power. Borrowed Nether enters his body during that struggle; unlike most recipients, Richter comes close to controlling it and acclimates more successfully than Theodora, allowing him to recover when the same power threatens to destroy others. (Chapters 1314, 1399, and 1472)
Appearance and personality
Richter has long fingers and keeps his legs covered by a fleece blanket, reflecting his lack of investment in physical Stats. He idly walks a coin across his knuckles and presents as observant, controlled, and difficult to surprise. (Chapter 1314)
Abilities and progression
His specialty is intelligence work: perception, inference, and covert assessment rather than bodily force. He also manages borrowed Nether inside his body better than any nearby human Randidly observes. That Nether remains borrowed and potentially temporary, while his weak physical foundation makes protection and careful positioning important despite his exceptional control. (Chapters 1314, 1399, and 1472)
Relationships
Theodora Greyman is his commander and the political figure whose return he enables. Randidly sees Richter as the crucial support in one possible future involving King Phirun. (Chapters 1314, 1399, and 1472)
Items
A coin manipulated across his knuckles is a recurring personal prop, but it has no stated supernatural property. (Chapter 1314)
