Biography

Malloon’s reconstruction and Elhume’s betrayal

In the reflected Aetherlands, the Patron of the Deep first appears among Elhume’s Patrons and later charges Malloon in fury before redirecting immense energy toward rebuilding. Working with Jotem, the Patron recruits displaced businesses and renovates skyislands, spending extravagantly but restoring function. The being then joins Randidly and the other Patrons against larger threats, surrendering so much life energy that the body sags. Elhume’s eventual betrayal leads to the Patron’s death, a loss Randidly later invokes when confronting Elhume. (Chapters 1637, 1988, 2002, 2014, 2044, 2108, 2143, 2155, and 2182)

Appearance and personality

The Patron is an Origin Beast who can float and whose face turns pale and body sags after extreme expenditure. The habitual condescension, philosophical speech, large ego, and appetite for conversation can obscure an ultimately generous nature. (Chapters 2014, 2108, and 2155)

Abilities and progression

The Patron possesses unique Origin Beast talents useful in skyisland construction and can provide immense quantities of life energy. The being also participates in high-level Patron operations beside Engravers and Nether users. These gifts are not exhaustless: donating life energy visibly weakens the Patron, and the reflected history confirms mortality despite unusual power. (Chapters 2002, 2044, 2143, and 2155)

Relationships

Jotem is the Patron’s rebuilding partner and frequent financial critic. Randidly sees through the ego to the generosity beneath it, while Elhume first recruits and ultimately betrays the Patron. (Chapters 2002, 2014, 2155, and 2182)

Randidly associates an expensive crystal apple with the Patron, but custody and later use are not established. (Chapter 2044)
