Biography

Choosing a new chapter

Mareen begins as a nineteen-year-old evening clerk whose honeyed voice attracts customers and Naffur’s anxious affection. She recoils after witnessing violence she cannot reconcile with the person she knows, creating a long separation. When they meet again, her warmth remains, but Mareen chooses a new direction rather than allowing that old relationship to define her. She approaches dangerous floating islands despite feeling powerless, works with Ed Dugg on construction, and becomes valuable enough that Tatiana closely manages the cost and schedule of employing her. Appearance and personality

Mareen is first described as nineteen and not conventionally perfect in appearance, with a voice compared to honey drawing customers.
