Jawem
Jawem is Devick’s vigilant guard and Hobfootie teammate, combining suspicion of Randidly with disciplined team play. (Chapters 1982, 1989, and 2026)
Biography
Guard duty enters the Hobfootie field
Jawem travels at the head of Devick’s column, scanning for threats and openly warning that the Nether King cannot be trusted. Physical training leaves him gasping, yet he and the team refine their foundations for a year because he understands that merely being above average cannot win a championship. On the field he remains grim even during dominance, reads brackets and opponents carefully, and executes disciplined punts and recoveries. Toll’s catastrophic injury and absence finally break the team’s structure, leaving Jawem unable and unwilling to replace a role that was never his. (Chapters 1982–1989, 2013, and 2026–2028)
Appearance and personality
Jawem is watchful, grim-faced, and frequently sweat-slicked or wheezing after training. His eyes continuously scan horizons and crowds for danger to Devick. Exact coloration is not repeatedly specified. (Chapters 1982, 1983, and 2013)
Abilities and progression
His strengths are vigilance, physical conditioning, teamwork, aerial ball recovery, and forceful punting under multi-directional attack. Jawem reads tactical disadvantages without surrendering discipline. He cannot fill Toll’s specialized role after the injury, showing that the Hobfootie team depends on differentiated positions rather than interchangeable athleticism. (Chapters 1986, 1989, 2026, and 2028)
Relationships
Devick is his charge and team captain, Tell a fellow teammate, Toll the injured player whose absence he cannot replace, and Randidly the Nether King he distrusts but grudgingly respects. (Chapters 1982, 1987, 1994, and 2027–2028)
Items
Hobfootie protective vests support his training and play, but no personal named item is established. (Chapter 1983)
