Jacktat is a former Artisan of the Thunder Hammer Style whose service to the Merchant Association leaves him arrogant, petty, and technically dulled. (Chapters 183, 186, and 189)

Biography

A sold-out Artisan underestimates a student

Jacktat confronts Randidly as a hired spear user for a merchant embroiled in a feud with Claptrap. Divveltian remembers him as a legitimate Artisan before comfort and employment cost him his edge, but warns that the title still makes him dangerous. Jacktat cannot accept that Randidly’s technique might threaten him because he refuses to recognize the younger fighter as an Artisan. That arrogance lets repeated Edge of Decay wounds accumulate until he is defeated and becomes Divveltian’s example of an opponent future tournament rivals will surpass. (Chapters 183, 186, and 189)

Appearance and personality

Jacktat’s stable coloration is not stated. His posture and speech are defined by arrogance, pettiness, and the complacency of a once-respected fighter who expects rank to decide a battle before technique does. (Chapters 183 and 186)

Abilities and progression

As a former Artisan of the Thunder Hammer Style, Jacktat retains substantial spear skill and enough power to threaten less advanced fighters. His principal weakness is stagnation: employment and certainty have dulled his edge, while contempt prevents him from noticing Randidly’s accumulating decay damage. (Chapters 183 and 186)
