Han first meets Donny as a composed representative whose smile passes quickly across his face. By the Kharon gathering, he serves as the personification of the barrier between Zone 7 and the three women who act together as Xiang Le. Their enthusiasm for treating public events like a dramatic story repeatedly pulls him away from careful schedules and even a perfectly brewed coffee. He nevertheless continues the work, meeting Randidly before Kharon departs and carrying the diplomatic burden of making a collective sovereign legible to other powers.
