Drak Wyrd

Drak Wyrd is the overwhelming favorite of a Tellus tournament, a spear fighter whose solar image makes him the standard Randidly must surpass. (Chapters 227, 241, and 289)

Biography

The favored hero meets an impossible rival

Drak enters the tournament expected to win without effort, making his match with Randidly a direct test of the outsider’s legitimacy. He advances with a spear and a vast sun image, using accelerated ages and stellar change within that image to place cosmic weight behind his attack. Randidly’s victory wounds more than Drak’s body: it disrupts the heroic future projected onto him and draws continuing hostility from Aegiant. By the later Wight crisis, his grandfather remembers him as someone “supposed to be a hero,” implying a ruined or ended life rather than fulfilled promise. (Chapters 227, 241, 280, 289, 351, 776, and 838)

Appearance and personality

Drak’s precise coloration is not repeatedly fixed. He carries the controlled bearing of Tellus’s foremost tournament favorite, with half-closed eyes and deliberate spear posture as his solar image gathers force. (Chapters 227 and 289)

Abilities and progression

Drak is an elite spear user whose image centers on a burning sun and the immense timescale of stellar transformation. By accelerating millennia within that image, he changes the reaction at its core and amplifies the attack’s conceptual pressure. The technique is formidable but not absolute; Randidly survives and defeats him, and the resulting injuries appear to end Drak’s expected heroic path. (Chapters 280–291 and 351)

Relationships

Randidly is the rival who overturns his expected victory. Aegiant treats Drak’s defeat as an injury to remember, and Drak’s grandfather preserves the family’s failed heroic expectation. (Chapters 227, 351, 776, and 838)

Items

A spear is his defining weapon, but no individually named artifact is established. (Chapters 227–291)
