BA-Zeta
BA-Zeta is a sentient brass automaton who survives alongside Krum, Zack, and their companions before building a life in Kharon.
Biography
From hunted survivor to Kharon resident
BA-Zeta initially helps a mixed group escape Greater Werewolves, calmly urging movement and holding a tunnel with buzz-saw arms while goblin archers support the defense. Later, Zeta travels with Zack and the Chimera Allowaen, shifting from mere survival toward companionship and ordinary life. In Kharon, friendship with Krum and a difficult attachment to Allowaen expose an emotional life that its mechanical body does not make any less genuine. (Chapters 1613, 1618, 1773, 1818, 1835)
Appearance and personality
Zeta has a fabricated brass humanoid body, a metal faceplate marked by small dents and scratches, adjustable eye lenses, and modular forelimbs. It habitually polishes its mechanisms. Its solemn speech and practical restraint contrast with the violence of some companions, while its uncertainty about Allowaen reveals sensitivity beneath the precise exterior. (Chapters 1613, 1763, 1773, 1818)
Abilities and progression
Its forelimbs fold between mechanical hands, rotary saws, claws, and ranged mechanisms. Zeta can become a low, clawed quadrupedal configuration, cut Greater Werewolves in close quarters, smash enemies aside, and fire Mana bolts. Damage to the chassis remains consequential, and the available scenes do not define a formal class, image, or advancement stage. (Chapters 1618, 1763, 1766–1767)
Relationships
- Krum calls Zeta one of his best friends and includes it in Kharon’s social life. (Chapter 1818)
- Allowaen becomes the focus of Zeta’s affection; their relationship is real but difficult, and Zeta often cleans up the trouble she causes. (Chapters 1812, 1835)
- Zack fights and travels beside Zeta during their escape and island journey. (Chapters 1765–1773)
